Jeweling Cool Water Ring Recipes

Yes, I know I posted a recipe a week ago, but this one has more of a practical use and doesn't focus on only one niche. The recipe is Eye of the Beast, More-Pearlescent Jewel 2x, Naval Shard, Stolen Pearls 2x.

Place the ingredients in this order:

SP MPJ
EB MPJ
SP NS

You should get:

1/4 mana regen
-15% spell damage
100-120 raw spell damage
8%-10% reflection
5%-6% water damage
-5%- -4% melee damage
44 intelligence req.
-227 durability

You can use a Naval Stone instead of a Naval Shard if you want to help out the negative spell damage, but what I would do is craft two rings; This one and another with more spell damage. The recipe for that is up to you, but I was thinking something like this:

Naval Stone 3x, More-Pearlescent Jewel, Unicorn Horn, Borange Fluff.

Ingredient effectiveness is still a bit confusing to me, so sorry if I make a mistake, but you should get:

27%-33% spell damage
71-85 spell damage
6%-7% reflection
-3%- -5% melee damage
122 intelligence requirement (I'm sure this is possible, but it might be hard for most builds to reach)
-277 durability

Spoiler: Math in case I made a mistake

So basically, if I understand ingredient effectiveness correctly, the correct way to calculate this is every outlier in the range of values is multiplied by 0.42 because we have 30% effectiveness from the horn and 12% effectiveness from the fluff. Also, all of my math is done assuming that 0.50 and up round up, so if that, wrong, please correct me. Here are the calculations:
Spell damage %: The range of spell damage is 6% to 8%, so first we multiply 6 by 0.42 to see what it is. That is 2.52, so we round up to 3. Because there are 3 stones, and 9 * 3 = 27. We do the same thing for 8%, the maximum value. It is 3.36, so we round down to 3. Again, there are 3 stones, so 11*3 = 33. The range is 27%-33%.

I shouldn't have to explain this further for the raw spell and reflection on the more-pearlescent jewel, so I'll just show the calculations:
Raw Spell: 50 * 0.42 =21, so 50 + 21= 71. 60*0.42= 25.2, round down to 25. 70+25= 85. I won't show reflection because nobody cares about it, but yeah.

As for the negative melee damage on Naval, I don't know how exactly ingredient effectiveness affects it. I'm not sure if it increases it or reduces it. I assumed the latter, so my math is:
6 * 0.42 = 2.52, round up to 3. Add 3 to -6 to get -3, do the same for -8. 8*0.42= 3.36, round down to 3 again. Add 3 to -8 to get -5.

I shouldn't have to show my work for durability since effectiveness doesn't affect it, but for the requirement:
25*3 = 75 +12=86*0.42=36.12, round down to 36. 86+36=122.

I swear if this gets nerfed I'm not sharing any more recipes

 

Level 100s yield ~420 base with T3s and ~365 base with T2s, so -232 is perfectly fine.

 

Apparently Naval Stone got changed to have spell damage instead of water damage, so let me change that

Top left: Archaic Medallion
Top right: Obelisk Core
Middle left: Archaic Medallion
Middle right: Obelisk Core
Bottom left: Eye of the Beast
Bottom Right: Stolen Pearls

Each Archaic Medallion has -300% effectiveness, resulting in a multiplier of -2

So you should get...

1/4 mana regen
13% to 21% spell damage
-48% to -40% health regen
8% to 10% stealing

-260 durability (160 durability w/ t3 materials)

Pretty good for no requirement

Probably, since the ring you made has no real downsides and excellent bonuses.

I just hope more-pearlescent jewel doesn't get nerfed it's my favorite jeweling ingredient

 

I'm gonna point out that the second recipe is unusable, I ran the numbers and under the assumption effectiveness affects requirements (which I've seen decent proof of), it needs 166 Intelligence to use, which is a level that you can probably only hit with Nirvana(and even then you can't use it because weapon skill points don't let you use items whose requirements were reached with the weapon)
I'm an idiot, but tbh I wouldn't use 120 int for a ring though

Wait, I'm confused, how did you get that? There's two ways that ingredient effectiveness can be interpreted, and both give the same answer. One is the way I did it in the math spoiler, and the other is multiplying every ingredient by 0.41 and then adding it up.

Former way: The math spoiler shows my work.

Latter way: 25*0.41=10.25, round down to 10. 25+10=35. 35*3=105.
12*0.41=4.92, round up to 5. 12+5=17. 105+17=122.

Am I misinterpreting how ingredient effectiveness works, or did I make a calculation error?

 

Yeah, I'm not seeing a major problem. Assuming effectiveness rounds after summing, 87*1.42 = 123.54 --> 124. Assuming it rounds before summing, 12*1.42 = 17 rounded, 25*1.42 = 36 rounded, 36+36+36+17 = 125.

(I know we have confirmation that one of those two is the correct way from when someone did testing - @Treebeard68 I feel like it was you for some reason? - but I don't remember which one is right)

 

I'm tailoring, not jeweling, and I definitely did not do any testing. I don't do much crafting either.
