Armouring 9/4 - 10/4 Mana Chestplate

This recipe was heavily inspired by @TurboStratus recipe for his walk speed stuff.

-54% - -72% in all defenses

79 intelligence requirement
60 durability with t3 materials

Spoiler: Explaination

Decaying heart boosts the crown to -100, along with the essence it reaches -180%, resulting in 1 mana.
The heart also boost the crown under it to -100%, with the core and the essence it reaches -380%, resulting in 3 mana.
The heart boosts the fairy to either 2 or 4 (I hope 3.5 is rounded to 4), depending on roll, resulting in hopefully another 4 mana.
Finally, the essence gets boosted to 2 mana by the heart.

All in all, it results in 8-10 (never 9) mana

If you're not a fan of 60 durability (who is), here's an alternate version with 9 mana and more dura:

For once, % elemental defense has a significant effect. Expensive for sure. As always, hinges on Decaying Heart.

Wow this is very nice, also I can confirm that the 171 durability on the second one is correct.

Another thing is that I think the crown on the left (-380% / -368%) gives +4 mana rather than 3

And the 3.68 rounds up to 4

 

When stacking negatives you have to ignore the first -100% (for example the -200% from the core just flip the stat from negative to positive: the first -100% boost the stat to 0, the next -100% make it positive. So -200% is actually 100%, -300% is 200% and so on), so the -368% are actually a -268% boost, which should round up to 3 mana.
I hope I explained that in an understandable way

 

I assume you didn't read the spoiler part and missed the screenshot I already provided. A 268% increase makes 1 go to 3.68 which rounds up to 4.

crown has -1/4 mana. the other ingredients in total have -368%. 368% of -1 is -3,68. this results in (-1-(-3.68)) (- and - result in addition, so -1+3.86, which 2.86, so around 3 mana.

 

Ahh you're right. I was using that website wrong, since it seems to give different results when I take away the 100 instead of using the original number with a negative. Sowry D:

Is elemental defense really relevant though?

 

it is definetly

 

in PvE situations, i really only find "high" negatives (-150 or lower) and "high" positives to really make a huge difference (300 or higher).

there are items like third eye and byte which counter -ele def% pretty nicely though.

 

just replace the panda crown with enchanted chain link and you're good
