As you near the city further, the wind accelerates and blows sand in beautiful streaks. It's now afternoon.
In the light of the sun behind the city, you can make out three tall towers, and one that seems to have collapsed. Sand is piled up at the base of the towers. Some low-roofed stone buildings can be seen.

 

How close are we?

 

About 10 minutes away

 

Can Lewis see any people?

What type of race normally live out in the desert?

 

You haven’t been in the desert much, but Yuan-Ti can live there, as well as humans, gnolls (underground).

 

Apart from the city, is it all just flat desert?

 

Apart from the long dune ridge near the coast, as far as you can see.

As the tall towers loom before you, you can see many cracks, holes and points of impact on them. Weathered square holes, presumably some sort of window, the fourth tower is indeed broken near the ground, shatters of the fallen part lying in the sand.
You see figures slowly meandering around, theyall seem to have dirty and dust sand-caked clothes, and their skin looks dry.
In the middle of the towers is what looks like some form of town square with low-roofed sandstone-and-granite buildings. Speckles of white quartz can be seen here and there.
