So sorry for my lack of responses.

I've been busy being the definition of humanity and procrastinating a 13 page packet in two days cuz I know how to systematically procastinate lel.

Ariane heads back to the rooftop to find.... that everyone is pretty much gone.

Well... except for one person.

A young adult with a black umbrella, greyish / blackish hair, black jeans, grey jacket, grey shoes, and light skin tone stands in the center of the rooftop. He seems to analyze Ariane before saying, "Your friends have gone." Definitely German or British. "I'd try this rooftop at around 1:00 P.M. tomorrow if you're concerned about reconnecting with them... although I can't say I'd trust that all of them would be here."

The adult sighs and taps his umbrella on the ground looking up at the Empire State Building where the Totem of Probability lies.

"You should probably and go head to wherever your home is and do whatever," he suggests.

Welp... Justin and Fabio take only a 10 minute nap before one of the employees asks for your group of three to leave.

They wake up Justin and Fabio.

"Sirs, this isn't a place for sleeping. I must ask you to leave if you are finished with your meal," the employee says. Young adult, male if you're interested... they aren't an important character, just some facts if you guys intend to roast the guy.

The time is now 4:06. (Tbh, I'm not sure what time the last time check for Justin, Fabio, and Fov was--- I may have to change the time).

What now?

Chris walks up to the front counter and the dude there says dryly, "What'ya want?" Huh. Seems pretty informal but that might be because he looks about a couple years (around 4ish) older than Chris.

The person looks dead drop tired and it's evident in the big eye bags. His posture is droopy and he doesn't seem like an enthusiastic fella.

What now?

(You could refer to the actual Starbucks Menu if you're ordering something but if you want to keep it simple like "Coffee", then I'm fine with that... Of course you don't have to order)

Anefei can't actually conjure shards of power.

He's a light elementalist... well a dead one trapped in limbo or something like that.

I mean he could try making shards out of light I guess.

The scene changes from the hostel to the Starbucks of 'Fate'. It's a pretty small looking Starbucks with what looks like apartment buildings over the store.

It's odd that no one seems to have noticed the sudden appearance of a person in the middle of the sidewalk.

The orange shard disappears in a green and blue hue... strange because all the other teleportation shards cast from the thieves or James simply just disappeared with no extra hue or special effect.

Rose looks inside the glass and doesn't find any really interesting noteworthy people... except for Chris who is in a different change of clothes and seems to be currently ordering something from the counter. The employee at the counter doesn't look enthusiastic at all and seems to look tired as hell with a droopy posture.

There's about 4ish employees and 4ish customers (including Chris) currently in the building. No Karen in sight tho.

What now?

 

"I'm sorry, you are?"

 

"I'll go with some coffee" and when they ask for my name (i think they do that in starbucks) i say "Mathias Wrek"

Of all people. He probably would be a kind of person who needs coffee, for sure. That guy running the counter also needs a shot of coffee too.

Alright Rose. This is your great chance. Just walk off now from the shop and go home and just wait for Karen an hour later when she returns and oh my gosh why are my legs moving on its own.

I enter the shop, stealthily. Since it does not seem like peak hours, it is quite easy to scout the place for a person. No sign of Karen yet though.

Though, I am curious what Daniel is doing here. I try and keep my distance, but I try to see what is going on.

Well that's one way to start the subplot.

Rose enters the shop and one of the employees there cleaning the glass simply nods and says "Welcome to Starbucks," with no enthusiasm.

The dude at the counter asks for Chris's Daniel's name after he says he wants coffee.

"Mathias Wrek," Daniel says.

The dude looks down at Chris and there's silence for a couple seconds before saying, "Hm, I wouldn't be too sure of that."

A purple and blue shard (Alternative) and a colorless shard (The Traveller) with a map symbol embedded appears behind the young adult and he says, "Maybe try using your real name next time, Christian Hawk."

The employee cleaning the glass suddenly walks to the center of the store and anounced to all of the other customers, "Sorry, but we're closed for the day. We need to restock on our inventory of food and other necessities." Even though it's a shit reason, the three customers start to get up and leave (stupid magic).

The three non-important customers grumply exit the room and now it's only the four employees, Chris, and Rose in the building.

The two shards behind the person at the counter shimmer again but this time, seem to be targetted at Rose.

"Ah, you two are acquainted," he says.

"I don't think our boss would be very happy with how you kids treated Mathias."

The employee that was cleaning glass then summons in two circular black objects... wait shit they're bombs.

The other two employees summon in a sword and flame dagger respectively.

Time skipping to a couple minutes later . . .

Justin and Fov walk to the Starbucks on 9th Avenue and find that it's a pretty small building with what looks like an apartment building over it.

They see three customers walking out of the shop not really looking happy and one of the employee goes ahead and flips the sign to say "CLOSED" instead of "OPENED."

Justin and Fov find two people of interest however... Chris and Rose.

One of the employees already has two shards floating behind him while the other summons in two bombs, one summons a sword, and one creates a flame dagger.

...

Justin and Fov are currently outside the building.

What now?

Fabio goes back to sleep and the employee wakes him up saying, "This is not a public sleeping area. You must leave."

"Go away," Fabio replies.

"Sir, I'm going to call the police if you don't leave soon," the employee threatens.

Fabio should also notice that Justin and Fov are gone and have disappeared...

What now?

Now really, I believe I have done nothing wrong here. I just happened to have stepped in at the wrong time in the wrong moment. I should had known. This guy is bad news.

Seeing how it is only me and Daniel, and both of us probably not in fighting shape to defend ourselves, it might be best that we avoid combat altogether.
