Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"No, it's just I haven't delivered it and I should've..." Katie says, breaking eye contact as she looks away.

 

"Yeah."
Crystal responds telepathically and nods.
"I have, uh, flashlight eyes, but I don't wanna turn 'em on encase something gets mad."

 

"I think you'd nightblind Puddles, or me."

"How about we go fix that?" Ihra offers.

I'm just saying that dens that are too big get cold.

 

“Okay.”

 

"Oh. That's what you meant."

 

Katie's eyes light up with new hope.

"Yeah!" Katie says happily.

 

"I dunno where the package is, but let me know whenever you're ready to get back on your way." Ihra says, letting go as to let Katie get the box.

What did you think I meant?

"I'm sure her cat... thing... will help guide you. Or, at least, keep you from getting too far off track."

 

"Oh! I'll go get it." Katie says, running back to the ocean and diving in.

A few minutes later, Katie returns with the package in hand.

 

Ihra opens a portal back to the Void.
"I think I can make things to a bit faster, depending on where you need to get the package to."

 

Katie reads the tag, before showing it to Ihra.

 

"I'll just stick near you."

 

Ihra seems surprised.
"Ah... she took me to see that beast before... you know..." She sighs. "I suppose somebody needs to deliver the bad news, though..."

"There's a good bit of fog up ahead through a valley, I might use my staff as a tether on you."

 

"Okay. Just say when."

 

"I didn't understand you at first. So.. nothing."

 

Katie nods, though looks rather nervous.

 

“It’ll be fine. I can always get us out of there in a pinch.” Ihra says happily, opening a portal.

Oh. Maybe we should try to educate me... or at least find a way for me to make more sense.

“Just gonna do it now.” Linoa says, Crystal feeling a slight pull on his right shoulder as he notices himself redirected from bumping into the pallet.

 

"We lived in the forest for years. Don't be surprised."

 

"I just remember having to move really slowly." Katie says, still sounding a little nervous.

 

Crystal shifts to let the staff sink into part of his body.

 

There’s a small ethereal tether reaching out from the staff, albeit no seemingly physical contact.

I can’t let you just be the brains forever. What happens if you get memory loss or something?

“Well, being alone is a bit scary in the Void. Now you won’t be!” Ihra says, offering Katie a smile.
