Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I would think you'd grow to be better. I suppose not." Mortius says, sounding disappointed.

 

Ihra narrows her eyes at Mortius.
"If we're that expendable in your eyes, why bother helping any of us at all?"

 

"Because you're key to a lot of things. According to Theodore, at least." Mortius says.

 

Crystal looks to the cat-thing, but doesn’t approach.

 

Ihra sighs.
"It's kinda ironic how you and your friends act an awful lot like mortals, yet hate them so much. Especially you."

It winds up climbing up Crystal, its claws hurting a bit as it climbs up onto his shoulder.

 

Ihra seems to have rather annoyed Mortius, judging by his withering look that seems to make Ihra feel like she's actually withering away.

 

Her wings start to droop briefly before she once again resists his power, even seeming to overcome it as she starts levitating.
"Blaming criticism on the person stating it, instead of thinking about their words."
She looks him in the eye.
"I might not be above you, but if you need my help, I hope you get over belittling me."

 

A skeletal hand rises up grasps Ihra tightly.

"You best watch your tongue around people of power. You don't want to misinterpret what they say and come to the wrong conclusion." Mortius says.

The skeletal hand then drags Ihra into the ground, where she blacks out.

Once Ihra wakes up, she finds herself lying on strange, pulsing flesh.

 

"To think I bothered feeling bad for him..." Ihra scoffs, picking herself up. "People of power? If you're so high and mighty, why the hell do you need me?"

 

Strange amalgamates of what used to be people writhe and scream in the flesh around her, though something about the world around her doesn't seem right. Things seem to appear and disappear as Ihra looks at them and away from them, and Ihra still feels the warmth of Gaia in her heart.

 

Ihra cringes, but slowly seems more irritated as time goes by.
"Wait a minute..."
She tries releasing a pulse of life and light, albeit stronger than she intends.

 

The world around her disrupts, and Ihra wakes up properly.

Mortius seems to be looking over Ihra with concern, though looks rather relieved when she wakes.

 

"I knew it..." She grumbles, seeming irritated. "How many times do you think you're gonna put me in my place?"

 

"That was not my intention. Your heightened state of emotion caused unpredictable side effects." Mortius apologises.

"I think it's best you leave now, Ihra," Gaia says, now standing beside Ihra with a disappointed look on her face, "We don't want any more conflicts."

 

Ihra glances around, her eyes red and the redness winking as she glances at Gaia before dispersing.
"I... okay. Package with Katie... let's start there. Could you let me back on Earth?"

 

Crystal reaches up to pet it.

 

"You keep the forest save, which is good."

 

Gaia nods, a flower enveloping Ihra as she's dragged back to Earth.

Once the flower blossoms again, Ihra finds herself overlooking a sunny, if closed in, beach.

 

"Of course. I'm no tree hugger, but I'll take living in a forest over living in a city."

"Thanks." Ihra says as the flower closes.

She glides down, looking around for anyone as she checks if Katie's soul is nearby.

It paws his hand down before sitting down and no longer seeming to mind being pet.

 

Crystal turns his full attention to petting it, but continues to walk.
