Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal seems panicked as he watches the bug, but doesn’t move for it.

 

It burrows into the ground, seeming to have surprised itself.

“We’re already in the forest, but we can head back if you want. We might wake people up, though.”

“That’s sort of what having a shadow is like, but it’s not me who would need the time to rush things... well, I mean, it’d be nice, but it wouldn’t do as much for me.”

 

"Let's go somewhere near."

 

"What do you mean?" Mortius asks.

 

Crystal keeps moving, disappointed.

 

"Aj needs time for training, and Artemis will probably want to keep training too until Aj finishes up. I don't know what Abigail's doing, and Rineth said Katie was delivering some package for him. I can help speed things up with Katie if I went, but not the others."

Crystal soon finds Puddles' cat-thing walking alongside him.

"Alright." Anne says, jumping back up on your shoulder. "Go deeper into the forest, you should see a bunch of dens eventually."

 

"Forwards?"

 

"Sometimes, patience is key." Mortius says prolifically.

 

"I know, I know..." Ihra sighs. "I feel like everything works out, but is just way too close for comfort."

"Yeah, it's hard to miss."

 

"Perhaps you could help your friend Katie, then?" Mortius suggests.

 

"Okay. You keep an eye out while I walk aswell?"

 

Ihra nods.
"I want to get Artemis back here first, then yeah. That sounds like the best I can do right now."

"I mean, I live there. I can just tell you if you take a wrong turn." Anne says.

 

"I'm sure Grace will deal with retrieving Artemis." Mortius says calmly.

 

"Oh. You live nearby? Sweet."

 

"I technically rule the forest... not like I care too much about what's going on as long as people don't try and cut it all down."

"I... may have planted another seed of doubt in Artemis' head. I'll probably need to fix that before she starts coming to terms with answers."

 

Mortius narrows his eyes at Ihra.

 

"Fair ruling. I like it as the state it is in now."

 

"Hey, the first thing mortals do when they don't understand something that isn't trying to kill them is try to make up reasons to fill in the gaps. It's sort of natural."

"I don't do much, just as long as nothing drastic happens."

 

"I'm surprised you would do such a thing." Mortius says.

 

"I live among them, I was raised by them." Ihra shrugs. "I'm gonna inherit some things from them."
