Does Anyone Know What This Is?

Hi i was doing the slay conures mini-quest and i climbed a tree and found this. has this allready been found? if so what is it about?

 

This has been found several times, and I don't know its purpose or origin.

 

I think it's a clue to how many items you need for a nearby boss altar. Is there a boss altar nearby? That would explain it.

Otherwise, it might be an easter egg.

 

That's what it reminds me of, but the only nearby Boss Altar is Orange Wybel.

I think at some point there were a number of these potato frames all across the map... I vaguely remember hearing about this but don't remember the details.

 

My best guess is that this was probably for an event if the last comment is true. If it's not then it's probably just a little meme by the CT. Although, I did find this same thing on another tree in Sky Islands that said "7"

 

That's been around for years. People questioned that back in 2016-17 and to this day no one really knows what that is or what it means (the potatoes also predate boss altars).

I'm pretty sure only the creator knows what that is supposed to mean, and I don't think anyone knows who the creator is.
