Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Evening, sweety. Didn't get too wet?"

 

Anne jumps, startled before looking up.
“Oh, you’re already here. No, I didn’t get wet. I had to wait a bit for it to ease up, but it wasn’t raining too hard.”

I’d barely call that a drizzle...

 

Gaia nods, contemplating.

"It was less so how to handle her, more so what she would do." Gaia clarifies.

 

“R-right.”

 

"So.. where do we put the note?"

 

“On that note, I knew she could summon beings she’s seen die, but... Tenebrae? Should I even ask how that happened?”

Shack keeps on walking, seeming a bit more distant.

“Alright, I have some shells that naga supposedly collect. I leave the note there, and apparently they’re supposed to leave us a note back with a meeting place and time.”

 

"Well...Tenebrae was killed by Xlentia a while ago. She was brought back sooner than normal, though." Gaia says, thinking back.

 

“That’s... uncharacteristic of Xlentia. Did Tenebrae strike against her with Lux?”

 

"How long would we need to wait for them to respond?"

 

Gaia nods.

"Supposedly they had a child, who Xlentia erased from existence." Gaia says.

 

"Of course... the idiot who woke the beast beneath Xlentia's palace. Shame such a terrible kid came from such caring parents." Iris says, seeming disgusted. "If I wasn't busy at that point, I probably would've joined that party. He got the nickname 'reality render' for what he did. Hell, you're lucky Idhaenna didn't come over with her modified godslayers to give them a piece of her mind."

"I don't know. It supposedly depends on what you leave with the note, which shouldn't be long if they collect these shells."

 

Gaia just seems confused.

"I don't recall such a child's existence. I'm glad no major harm has come from it's supposed existence though." Gaia replies.

 

"Erasure removes all memories from all legitimate beings. Mind you, it did cause major harm, just not in your reality."

 

Gaia raises an eyebrow, curiosity piqued.

 

"Let's hope for tomorrow morning."

"Come on, let's deliver that note."

 

Crystal just looks to the ground as he walks, saddened.

 

"The rift connecting the Void to your reality already damaged it, and Xlentia, heavily. The child threatened to open many more by weakening the Void's connection with the places it connects. If allowed to continue, the child would have broken our reality into countless pieces."
Pause.
"And Xlentia would become powerless and die to her own size, but she's already been attacked twice since the connections, so I'm assuming that there's not a whole lot of concern for her safety at this point." Iris shrugs.

The bug from earlier (at least, a similar one) lands on Crystal again a minute or so later.

"Can you help me walk to the water's edge? I don't trust marshy ground." Anne asks. "Or at least come down and walk with me?"

 

"Oh right."

I'll climb down.
"Jump on, but clean your feet first."

 

"Well...I suppose it was for the best their existence was cut short." Gaia sighs.

 

“Xlentia still feels bad over it. She knows how much it hurt Tenebrae and Lux, but her job is one nobody wants to do.”

Anne wipes her paws on the tree as you climb down, hopping on your shoulder once you get on the ground.
