Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The young guardian jumps, dropping the stone that would be the end of the snowman's mouth.

"Oh...u-um...hello." The young guardian says in an equally young voice, looking a little intimidated.

 

“Sorry to startle you, I was wondering if you knew where Lady Gaia was.” Ihra asks, barely shivering.

None of those are big enough for the effort, except the alligators... and I’d rather pass on those.

 

"Yeah.."

 

"U-Um, well, she came through here and went to the other altar...and then it started snowing and everyone got all cold." The girl says nervously.

 

“Which way is the other altar?” Ihra asks, her barrier now visible as it blocks the snow around her.

I wonder what Anne would think if we waited in a tree?

 

The girl points off through the snow, what looks like a blizzard up ahead obstructing the path to the altar.

 

Ihra nods.
"Thank you." She says, heading straight for the blizzard.

 

The blizzard blasts her with freezing cold air for a while, before it suddenly stops. The ground starts to shake, and Ihra hears one of the volcanoes she's near explode. The ground begins to feel warm again, the snow melting away as a blast of steam almost knocks Ihra off of her feet.

 

The barrier seems to resist this, though Ihra pushes harder to try and get to the altar faster as her seraphic wings dimly glow.

 

The ground rumbles as more volcanoes explode, the area seeming to turn back to normal. A frozen fire guardian melts near to Ihra, seeming to take a deep breath as they fall to the ground.

Ihra eventually finds the altar after walking for what feels like hours. The volcanic plains are hot and full of life once more. The altar seems to be up a volcano, though luckily there seems to be a defined path up to it. As Ihra looks up to it, she can see what looks like a fungus-infested forest guardian shamble through like a zombie. However, the fungus seems to be leaving them, and they appear to be regaining control.

 

She reverts into a six-winged wyrm,moving through the altar and portal as she continues trying to find Gaia.

 

Once Ihra heads through the portal, she finds herself in an infested swamp. Though what seems to be a fungal infection overtaking guardians and animals alike seems to be fading fast, as Ihra feels a warmth outside that of heat; one she normally feels while in Gaia's Gardens.

 

She tries to move towards to the source of what reminds her of Gaia.

 

It takes Ihra a while, but she finds another altar buried deep in a forest next to the swamp, giant mushrooms receding from it and spores dissipating.

Once Ihra heads through this altar's portal, she immediately sees (and hears) a rather hellish sight. Large black spikes seem to have erupted from a clearing in what seems to be a giant forest, corrupting the land around it, lava spitting out in areas. Demons and various other hellish creatures seem to be partying in the corrupted area, as well as a few guardians too. A large stage hosts a band of devils, death metal blasting through giant speakers that can be heard for miles. On the other side, an unlucky guardian seems to have been made into a roast alongside a goat and other animals; though strangely enough, a guardian that looks exactly the same as the one being spit-roasted seems to be conversing and laughing with the demons around it. A few tables seem to be set up in the middle area, demons drinking and eating or playing games. A rather bored looking succubus sits with a group consisting of a demon, an imp, a couple of devils and an odd looking creature with what looks like a mirror for a face. She sits in a rather revealing pose in already incredibly revealing clothing, though the group seems to be more interested in their game. It appears to involve simply rolling dice, however; no cards involved like the other tables with more successful succubi or incubi - able to seduce guardians too.

The most striking thing however, is what lies beyond the hellish encampment. A mass of trees and vines seem to form a wall of sorts, five giant statues of gaia barely avoiding the hell corruption standing guard over it. They appear to be deactivated, but judging by their markings, each statue represents an element. The earth gaia has it's arms crossed, while the fire gaia has burn marks around it's eyes. The water gaia's cheeks are eroded, and the expression seems to depict crying, while the air gaia would seemingly create powerful gusts of wind to blow creatures away. Sitting in the middle of them all is gaia's forest form statue, covered in moss, vines and overgrowth. It seems to block a pathway of cut vines and trees made by what looks like a giant beast; though the hell area also seems to be performing such an action too.

 

Ihra tries to pass over the hellish area to reach the statues, body seeming to phase through anyone trying to physically stop her despite her willingness to stop if spoken to.

 

As soon as Ihra gets near to the hellish area, everything stops and goes silent; all eyes on her. A large brutish demon seeming to be made entirely of muscle charges over to Ihra, a small imp riding on it's horns which pulls it to a stop.

"Well well well. Look who it is, the betrayer herself." The small imp says in an unfashionably high pitched voice.

The crowd of demons seem to be getting pumped up and angry upon seeing Ihra now, and she most likely won't be able to phase through all of their forms of attack. A few demons take up pitchforks, while others seem to prepare magic. While the guardians with the demons don't seem to be taking up arms, they don't seem to be trying to stop the demons either.

"Mortius told us not to let you past here. So that's what we're going to do." The small imp continues, brute grunting as it clenches its oversized fists.

 

"I don't have any wheels with me. I mean, I can be a wheel, but..."

 

“I need to make things right.” She says, reverting as Iris forms behind her.
“Hah, your god really thought she would betray any of her friends? I suppose I really screwed things up here, didn’t I?”
“Iris...”
“Leave the little angel alone. If you want to play with your friend, let her make amends and play with me.” Iris says, patting a disturbed Ihra on the shoulder.

“I don’t... actually, that could work. I assume you aren’t volunteering, though.”

 

"I like wheels for me. But I don't like carrying stuff as a wheel."
Pause.
"Why don't you just ask them if they have wheels?"

 

Linoa shrugs, dropping the connection.
“Have you two heard of a thing called the wheel?”
Shack nods, but Puddles seems confused.
“There’s no good materials to build one here, and we’ve had other visitors offer to help but things from outside disappear if whoever brought them leaves.”
