Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra sighs, seeming even more worried.
"Okay. I hope things don't get too bad... I'll keep looking, thanks." She says before flying off and looking for an altar to another garden.

Rabbit sounds good, but it's hard to sneak in wet dirt.

 

Ihra finds an overgrown altar around a toxic looking lake. Many water guardians seem to be avoiding it, those that were in it when it turned toxic appearing to be just corpses.

 

Crystal let’s go of the chain and just follows.

 

Ihra levitates over, checking their spirits.

The pallet isn't the quietest object while pulled (neither is the rattling chain), but Shack seems to mind it a lot less than Linoa.
"Do you think they actually haven't invented the wheel here?" She asks you telepathically, only half sarcastic.

 

Their spirits seem to be long gone from their bodies, most likely leaving when they died.

 

Ihra tries approaching the altar, a bit shaken by the scene.

 

The portal opens shakily, flickering a bit as it does so. Ihra can see a cold area through the portal, covered in snow.

 

Ihra heads through, preparing a barrier around herself.

 

“Isn’t it harder to pull a wheel in dirt? Or maybe they don’t have rolley-pollies here.”
Crystal responds telepathically.

 

"I mean.. we can climb at tree."

 

As soon as Ihra heads through, she's met with an icy cold wind. The ground beneath her feet feels like stone, and all around her seem to be lumps of ice. However, upon closer inspection, there seems to be fire guardians trapped within. The snow-covered area around her appears to be what was once a volcanic sanctuary for fire guardians; frozen solid.

 

She seems disturbed, walking into the wind while looking for any signs of Gaia (including an anomalous lack thereof).

And then what? Jump on a rabbit from there?

“Fair, but dragging an entire pallet along the ground isn’t much better.”

 

"Yeah. There aren't a lot of animals that live in this swamp."

 

The only thing Ihra finds is a young water guardian, carefully carrying a large snowball and putting it on top of two larger ones; forming a snowman. She looks around a bit before running over to some rocks, putting them in the snowman's 'head' to make a face. A few fire guardians watch her, frozen solid within spikes of ice. A gentle snow falls from the sky, and the volcanoes seem completely dormant.

 

Crystal just shrugs.

 

Ihra tries to free one of the fire guardians from the ice, seeming a bit adverse to the cold herself.

Not a lot of things we can jump on easily, at least.

“Some rollers or something would still be better, at least for straight lines.”

 

"There's naga. But.. I don't think that would help us with finding those charms."

 

The ice seems to just re-freeze as soon as Ihra chips away at it. Any greater force would probably end up killing the guardian in the process, however.

 

I don't think we can jump on them easily, especially if they don't surface much.

Ihra seems concerned, turning back and approaching the younger guardian.
"Excuse me?"

 

"What other creatures live in a swamp? Alligators, frogs and toads, birds.."
