1st off this is just a meaningful holiday quest thing [I think]
also how did Santa get like 70000 of the same corrupted crystal?

    OK Now real things:
So it is known that Selchar will be destroyed... by Santa..
And since it will, it probably will happen in some update.
    So, here's my question;
Will there be a port town 2.0? How will you get to corkus [besides going there yourself]?
What will happen to seavale reef?
Many of the islands you can only travel by via selchar so, how to get to them?
    Um... something else?

OK IDK if this can be here but don't hate me, idk if I shall have put this in nemract's bar or smth kthxbye

There isn’t going to be a 30 year timeskip and that Santa lore is wack.

Don't you save future Selchar in Craftmas Chaos anyways? I never really understood the quest

I don't think we save selchar in the quest, if I understand the quest correctly Santa gets corrupted because of the gem and at the end of the quest we are the one who gives the gem to Santa. I think that means that we are the reason Santa got corrupted in the forst place, so Selchar will be destroyed in the future.
Or at least this is what I think that happened, the quest is complicated and wierd, so it's hard to tell what happened.

I think it means Santa will be corrupted for 30 years, then you kill santa, freeing Selchar

I think it becomes a paradox when you give Santa the gem. You save Selchar from destruction and then give Santa the gem, but you only have to save Selchar because Santa got the gem from you - which happens in your future, so it hasn't happened yet. You're responding to your own actions and subsequently causing them, which is impossible.

Side note: I absolutely love Craftmas Chaos. A lot of quests feel kind of restrained and a little by-the-book, but this one is just insane, with time travel and straight up murdering Santa Clause. I love the kind of quests where the developers stopped giving a damn and decided 'you know what? Let's put the player in a rocket and send him to the moon.'

Passage of time is confusing considering every map update the terrain changes slightly. Specifically areas with corruption appearing and existing ones getting larger...

We only destroyed the relic stone because it’s a corrupted thing that made santa unable to go inside selchar, we did get the Corruption Relic Shard but we didn’t give it to santa we did give santa another thing called Ragged Santa Cloth (in the end of the quest).

    Dialogue:
    • Summoner: Uaaaggh! How dare you do this to me!
    • Summoner: I can't believe my relic stone can be shattered by some random peasant like you!
    • Summoner: Ugh! Stop it! Alright, you win. We only had the one crystal anyway.
    • Summoner: What? You want to escape this cave? Use the exit portal behind me then, he he.
After going through the exit that the summoner told us we got instantly to the destroyed selchar we hadn’t the chance to give santa the Corruption Relic Shard.

» Go through the portal behind him to escape the cave.
» Find a survivor and find out what happened.

After this you get the crystel shard from the rag you got when killing corrupted santa and you give it to santa after returning to the present.

    Dialogue:
    • Old Tom: Oh, and keep this crystal shard from the rag you gave me. I definitely don't want it.
» Return to the present and report back to Santa.

    Dialogue:
    • Santa: Anyway, I wouldn't want you to keep the crystal with you forever if its truly as powerful as it seems, give it to me, and I'll store it safely.
Does this mean that santa got corrupted because you shaterd the crystel? it’s so cofusing.
Sorry for making it more complacated.

I love this quest for the simple reason that it flips the entire perspective of time.

Normally, the past cannot be changed but the future can be anything you want it to be.

Craftmas Chaos is a bucket of cold water to the face and an introduction of a new system.

In Craftmas Chaos, you go back in time to destroy an evil corrupt crystal that deters Santa's reindeer. This is presumably not the reason the crystal was there in the first place- the power of a single shard suggests that the entire crystal itself could turn Selchar into a new Heart of the Corruption. Luckily, this is not the case. With the magical power of reindeer intuition, we stop a threat that could have turned the entire world into a potential hell. Except it never happens.

Present Selchar before starting the quest is unaffected. The Heart of Selchar isn't spewing demons left and right. In fact, the corrupt crystal is nowhere to be found in present selchar. And that's 40 years after the setting up of the Crystal. You'd expect the entire island to be practically twisting the world into chaos, and yet it's a nice little port town.

Skip to future Selchar. The whole world is destroyed. This is the future of Selchar in a world where you destroyed the crystal. Congratulations, you achieved nothing! You know the drill here; kill santa, get his rags, and oddly enough, find a SINGLE. CORRUPT. SHARD. in his rags.

Welcome back to the present, where Selchar is corruption-free and alive as ever. Santa thanks you for fixing whatever happened in the past that allowed him to deliver presents, and then TAKES THE SHARD.

Let's just put everything into consideration here-

In an old timeline, a bunch of cultists set up some sort of corrupt crystal that could potentially screw up the world. How they got it and what it would have done had it been left alone is left to speculation, but nobody stops anyone. The present is corruption-free, though Santa claims the twisted force is still there. That's fine, maybe the crystal is just hidden somewhere in a rock or something. Who cares, it's not ruining the world. No one knows what the future of this timeline would look like because no one sees it before we screw it up.

Enter the new timeline, where the crystal was shattered in the past. Present Selchar gets presents. That's great! Future Selchar is hell. That's not great at all. Santa has been driven insane by a SINGLE. CORRUPT. SHARD. The same shard of the crystal you destroyed.

This means the second you give Santa his damn shard, you've screwed up the future. Sure, Santa may have given everyone presents, but does that matter? You've killed literally EVERYONE. Santa'll succumb to the shard in due time, and go on a killing spree. We don't even know if the original crystal itself would have destroyed the world. Maybe it was just a source of power for a bunch of old men to live forever underground, who cares! But you destroy the crystal, releasing the greatest evil on the world, and eventually kill everyone.

    TL;DR

    Quest Rewards:
Presents for everyone in the past
    A lot of death

I made a graph showing what exactly happens in the quest. You can clearly see the paradox, shown with the red line.

All the player has to do to actually save Selchar from destruction is to either hide the shard so Santa can't find it, or to simply never get involved in the quest.

It was way back that it was changed to 1000 AP, even #WynnTrivia says it before 1.17 was released.
