Loot Chest Cooldown Times When Changing Servers

Originally I thought the 5 to 25 minute cooldown was to prevent chest abuse where one would switch servers and loot the same chest. However, several times I have found myself switching servers due to lag, and about 5 minutes later I find a chest in a different area. But for some reason I couldn't open it (had to wait 20 minutes), even though I hadn't looted that chest previously. Why would there be this cooldown if I had never opened the chest before. It seems that the game doesn't account for the fact that lag goes from 5% to 15% (although 15% seems low, my horse was pausing many times and abilities were delayed), pretty much forcing me to change Wynncraft servers.

 

Because it applies to all chests.

After switcing servers, there's a cooldown where you cannot open any chests. Higher tier chests have longer cooldowns.

 

This is how loot chest timers work.

When you open a chest, a timer starts on all chests(3 minutes for t1, 6 to t2, 12 for t3 and 24 for t4), and opening another resets it. Upon using /class or /hub, ALL chests are unopenable for you for time equal to how much time is left on the chest.
