Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"D-Don't go t-too." Artemis says as she sobs.

 

“W...why?”

 

"I-I-I don't w-want you t-to go." Artemis says, sobbing more at the concept.

 

Ihra keeps quiet for a minute, before nodding.
“Okay... I-I won’t.”

 

Artemis sobs for a bit, holding on to Ihra for a bit before finally letting go. She wipes her tears, trying to smile.

"I-I...We don't hate you," Artemis says, sniffling, "I don't want you to leave after everything you've done for me."

 

“I-I dunno... the gods were all pretty mad, a-and Lady Gaia... I didn’t mean it, and now she’s...”

 

"She's...gone..." Artemis says, holding back more tears, "She didn't want to take me back with her. She said I'd just turn on her too..."

 

Ihra shakes her head.
“I didn’t mean it...” She sobs. “I try to fix things, t-then just break them...”

 

"We're not to blame...they lied to us..." Artemis says, emotions starting to turn, "I've always put my trust in Gaia, but how could she lie to us?"

Artemis clenches her fists, before calming down.

"Stephanie said it was for the best though...it wasn't a lie, they had to really test us...Praecantatia apologised, too." Artemis sighs.

 

“I still wish they told someone from home, even if it wasn’t us... Rineth, somebody... just, lying about something that could’ve destroyed everything? I can’t... even if it was to make us go all out, that’s just too dire for me to take like this.”

 

"They didn't want anyone to know, or to spoil it. We weren't in any real danger, they were all watching," Artemis sighs, "What if they're still lying? If Lux really was a threat, and they arrived late? Why would Praecantatia put up the barrier?"

 

Ihra thinks.
“I hope this isn’t it, but... they gave us an extra life. What if they were just making sure they could still put us down? Praecantatia went out of her way to remind me I can’t take all the gods on at once...”

 

Crystal shifts to try and shield the bug from the mist.

 

"I think that was just a failsafe, in case Lux actually killed us. If they wanted to really kill us, they'd go after our real bodies," Artemis says, "They...killed us anyway."

 

It already hid slightly, but seems to calm down as Crystal shields it.

 

Crystal's gaze steadies on the bug once more as he tries to make a replica of the bug on his head by shifting.

 

“Fair... but I guess... I guess I really screwed up if they actually want me dead.”

 

Artemis shakes her head.

"That would be pretty hard to do." Artemis says, smiling a little.

 

“If I hurt Gaia that much, then I at least came close.” Ihra sighs. “I don’t know why she removed the Karmic Seed, though... shouldn’t it have flared up if she felt betrayed?”

The bug immediately skitters away from its replica, seeming annoyed.

 

"She gave you a karmic seed?" Artemis asks, a little surprised, "Maybe she just wanted to remove connection to you."
