Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"She's been spending time at home. She was given a phoenix to look after, and a guy called Chroma started coming after her for it." Stephanie says.

There's a loud bang as Praecantatia drops a phoenix feather into a potion, the smell of smoke coming from the now cracked and empty bottle.

 

Ihra sighs, facepalming.
"So that's who Iris sent to pester Abigail..."

 

"Iris was behind it!?" Stephanie asks, shocked.

Ihra feels one of Praecantatia's eyes on her.

 

Crystal watches it run, moving a tiny bit in its direction if he loses sight of it.

 

“She said she sent someone to give Abigail a scare a couple times while getting an orphaned egg out of Atavul’s clutches. Of course she had Chroma scare her.” She sighs, looking towards Praecantatia.

He loses sight of it pretty quickly, as it moves under a few leaves and then presumably underground.

 

Disappointed, he just keeps following Linoa.

 

As he passes near another tree, a similar bug lands on him. This time, it craws up as high onto Crystal’s head as it can instead of staying in place.

 

Praecantatia doesn't seem to be looking at Ihra, more focused on cleaning up the mess of the explosion; yet Ihra feels watched by her.

"Well, hopefully she doesn't find out Iris was behind it. She thinks it's just a happenstance of our realities being connected right now." Stephanie says, slightly worried.

 

“Did you set up a trap for Chroma? It’d be good to tip him off, considering he’s Rose’s eyes and ears into what Atavul’s doing.”

Ihra looks directly at Praecantatia, confused.
“...What?”

 

"Eh.. They ran onto the streets, but that's all I really know. They were in a rush though."

 

“Three centaur, you said... I’ll have them note that. You’re the only witness we’ve found so far.”

 

To toy with the bug, Crystal shifts around whatever the bug's standing on.

 

The bug seems confused, freezing up in response. Crystal can see that it’s frantically trying to figure out where a more stable place is.

 

"Have you checked the church? I did find some odd things in there."

 

"Well...kind of." Stephanie says.

Praecantatia holds up a red phoenix feather.

 

“There was some fur on a bible with a bloody fingerprint, was it yours?”

“I’ll tip him off about it. He’s technically our enemy, but he works for himself over Atavul, and he’s easily bribed.”

“Is that from the Chroma antics?”

 

Crystal stops shifting and just watches is.

 

"D-Don't tell him about it! That would ruin everything!" Stephanie says, panicking.

Praecantatia nods.

"Abigail wasn't fit to take care of the Phoenix." Praecantatia says.

 

Ihra sighs.
“It’s already dead?”

It seems to calm down as Crystal stops shifting, turning about occasionally as if to look at its surroundings as it goes.

 

Praecantatia shakes her head.

"Mum's taking care of it now." Stephanie says happily.
