Ihra smiles before hugging Stephanie back, albeit nervous about being seen doing so.

“I dunno, I just know Sivius gets drunk on it and it has really weird alchemical properties.”

 

"I mean about earlier. You...didn't flip out." Stephanie says, stifling a laugh.

 

“Getting used to a new body isn’t fun.”
The karmic seed falls and withers from Ihra’s wrist.
“...Huh?”

 

"Before I went in, 3 centaurs rushed out. One bumped into me."

 

"What's that?" Stephanie asks, confused.

Praecantatia glances over.

 

Crystal looks at the sky to find the sun's position.

 

“I think Iris said it was a Karmic Seed, something Lady Gaia put into her to show her disliking for my shadow. We’re the same person, though, so I got seeded too. Maybe she removed the seed from Iris?”

It’s just starting to set, but he has a few hours to kill.

“Were they carrying anything, or were you not able to see?”

 

"I didn't pay much attention to then. Just watched them run of."

 

"Indeed. Only Gaia is capable of planting them, they're tied to the bearers soul. How it acts is based on Gaia's current feelings toward them," Praecantatia says, "They can only be removed by her too."

"So you and Iris are like two parts of the same body?" Stephanie asks.

"Tenebrae's Shadows have less of a connection to their form. They cannot affect each other." Praecantatia adds.

 

"Let's keep walking."
Crystal suggests to Linoa.

 

“Yes, essentially. I’ve been talking with her a lot lately, and she’s really strange. She came to be through my nightmares and is still much more aggressive than I am, but her end goal seems ro be the same as mine. She just doesn’t mind cutting losses to save others. Though, she never did tell me why she likes jumping you guys, and she said that Abigail in particular was fun to scare.”

“We’ll keep to the forest, I’d rather find out about any predators from someone who knows a thing or two about them.”

“Did you see where they went from the alley, or no? We haven’t seen a group of three centaur pass today.”

 

"Do you wanna lead?"

 

"Killing Abigail caused us more problems than just a fun scare." Praecantatia says, annoyed, turning back to her alchemy.

"Maybe we could talk to her? My Shadow and I are friends, you could be friends with yours!" Stephanie says positively.

 

“I can try to arrange something. Though, she said that killing Abigail wasn’t a prank, it was part of a deal she made with the Hive Master before she up and ignored him after realizing the repercussions. She did, however, go out of her way to make a point that she hates Abigail a lot.”

“Sure.” Linoa shrugs.
Puddles waves at you.
“See you tonight!” She says happily.

The cat-thing walks along the ceiling only to continue onto the roof, disappearing from sight.

 

Crystal waves back as he follows Linoa.

 

"Abigail...isn't the friendliest to new people." Stephanie says, glancing away.

 

"She isn't the friendliest in general." Ihra sighs. "I don't think her tough love thing works with many people."

Crystal notices a small bug land on him as he walks, and it seems to be content with hitching a ride.

 

"Well...she's really caring once you get to know her." Stephanie says, smiling a bit.

 

Crystal watches it intently as he walks.

 

"True. I wonder how she's been lately, I haven't seen her in a while."

It watches back for a while before returning its focus to its surroundings as it walks.

After a few minutes, it seems to fixate on something and jump off, plummeting to the ground before skittering off.
