Render Distance In Wynncraft

I've always hated that I can't see far in wynncraft at all, I have to go to a place
for it to load in. Why is that, can the server not handle a lot of render distance,
or am I doing something wrong? I always have my render distance on max so
it can't be that. Is this normal and is there a way to get more render distance?

Yes(blame lag, because you have players loading chunks like crazy and it hurts the server)and not that I'm aware of until lag can be handled better.

 

The server's maximum render distance is 9 chunks per player due to being really taxing to handle, because of the world's size and the amount of players a single world can hold

 

Rip, wynncraft could've looked just a little bit nicer xD. If only wynncraft could get a 1 million dollar donation out of nowhere. Also when did wynncraft have to start doing this because I fondly remember having way more render distance.

If I recall, the limit was set to 8 with the release of Gavel in 2015 (mighta been earlier), and was upgraded to 9 in the gameplay update in 2016

 

I thought they decreased it in the most recent update and thats why a lot of redstone stuff is breaking (I think they said hero beta had the usual render so it didn't encounter some of the newer bugs)

 

Yeah, the current limit is down slightly. I'm 90% sure it's currently 6.
