Crafted Weapon Powercreep?

So recently i’ve seen quite a few crafted weapons with higher base dmg than some mythics, is this intended or will this be changed?

 

I mean, they have durability so that makes them somewhat weaker but I'm wondering the same thing.

 

Crafted weapons are balanced out by their durability. However, like other items, they are subject to balance changes if ingredients are adjusted. More details here.

 

How will this work though? eg if an ingredient gets nerfed, what about the crafted stuff that was made with it before it was nerfed? Would they somehow get nerfed too? Or would they stay the same

 

If an ingredient is adjusted, all items created with it will be changed accordingly, as well.

They can be, but the durability makes it basically pointless to use the super powerful items since they break super easily.

 

No? Just use them in bossfights

 

They don't break, their dmg only gets weaker and you use scrap to repair it, it was that easy, no need to break it.

 

Yeah I've already seen one of my favorite ingredients get nerfed. :(

If the crafter is smart about it, crafted items definitely can be more powerful than mythics. But I am not so sure about that. Besides the base damage, mythics usually have unique IDs that can also be quite powerful and helpful as well. Most crafted items I see so far that has a higher base damage are basically slapping 9 T6 Powders on a crafted item and has virtually not that much IDs. They will certainly be useful for piercing elemental defenses, but you will have to then rely fully on your armor and accessories to give you ID buffs. Meanwhile, using good ingredients on crafted items seem to decrease durability a lot as well.

Because of how powders work, it looks like Fast Crafted Items with the highest base damage seems to be the most powerful ones DPS wise, and even have a lot of durability since powders as ingredients don't use durability, so that might need a nerf.

Honestly, I took a look at the market and something like half of the ingredients have been nerfed. It seems really weird that most of the items turned out to be stronger than expected.

 

spells seem to affect durability same as melee*, which is bs

 

Agility doesn't affect durability either. There are definitely some parts of the durability system that favor certain playstyles.

 

Yes thrundacrack has very unique IDs
Same with fatal
And grandmother (? unsure if this will be outclassed)

When a thunder spear does more dmg than thrundacrack (dmg spear with net negative IDs), while still having 300 durability, idk how to think

Sure I'd still use thrunda but its now relegated to a side wep role (and possibly outclassed by hive spear for side wep-ing)

I'm really split on this myself to be honest. I know that if I ever get to level 100, I'm probably ditching at least half of my mythics for crafteds, and making a few more for the other elements I don't have. While this is an awesome ability to instantly have insane damage on whatever element you like, it just feels... ehhhhhhh idk
