Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“How many people actually know about the temple at the top? I couldn’t see it from the base when I started the climb.”

 

"Very few. You're not really allowed to speak of it much." I say, pulling out a large green crystal from the hidden compartment. I affix the crystal to the top of the portal frame, and start typing in passcodes on the computer.

 

“One other thing... if you’re training and Shadow Stephanie is being cured by Praecantatia... who’s ruling?”

 

"Ever heard of love spells or potions?"

 

“Of course, they’re the staple kitsune trade commodity.”

 

"I've got stuff in place for our extended absences." I say, waving my hand.

A bright green portal opens up, before the view shifts into a look of Gaia's Gardens. It seems to be in a dark forest, a more deathly sense about it than the rest of Gaia's Gardens.

 

“Don’t overwork Eve, please...” Ihra sighs, waiting to follow your lead.

 

"I wouldn't let a secret war project rule the kingdom, that'd be far too dangerous." I say, shocked at Ihra's assumption.

I head through the portal, which immediately closes once Ihra's through. She feels eyes watching her from the darkness.

 

“No, not that... I heard about Fenira, that there’s another kingdom at odds with yours.”
Ihra seems a bit too concerned with internal matters to mind being watched.

 

"They know not to mess with me. If they try anything, as you mentioned, I have Eve." I say, walking through the forest.

Red eyes blink into darkness, shadowy beings darting through the trees.

 

Ihra glances at the treetops, a bit surprised.
“Wait, shadow guardians are really a thing?”


Fenira lazily opens her eyes, taking in her surroundings with a yawn as she stretches out.

 

"Yeah? Tenebrae lets them come here when they die so they can feel closer to their half-mother," I say, "If they've earned a place here, that is."

Ihra senses something approach from behind.


Fenira seems to be in a lush field, surrounded by wildflowers. Judging by the lack of anything artificial, she seems to be in an area lacking humans.

 

Ihra turns hard, throwing up a barrier as her staff crystal glows with a dim light.


She takes a deep breath, seeming to enjoy the scent as she rolls around a bit with closed eyes before taking a stroll to try and find a place to settle down.

 

"Is there a way to check if one is under the influence of said love spell?"

 

A Shadow air guardian flies above the trees as soon as Ihra starts to turn, quickly disappearing from sight.

I calmly glance at Artemis.

"Do you think something's going to kill you here?" I ask.


Fenira finds a forested area, with a hill leading down into what looks like a swampy marsh. Mushrooms seem abundant, and in rings of them, faeries.

 

“Easy; love spells will not affect one’s survival instinct. Asking if they’d be willing to take a grievous wound for someone will still be answered honestly.”

“After that climb, yes.”


Fenira tries not to scare off the fae as she tries to find a fairly large tree to curl up around.

 

"So you would do anything but hurt yourself for the one that is affecting you?"

 

“Unless it’s true love, yes.”

 

"Hmm.. how would you test that though?"

 

"This is basically paradise. Nobody kills anyone here with malicious intent unless they want a one-way trip to hell." I say.

A Shadow earth guardian proudly steps out from the trees, blocking the path with it's body. They don't look especially happy.


The faeries seem fairly content and confident in their rings, singing, dancing and making pleasant music. Fenira finds a large tree stump next to a collapsed tree, the tree seeming to have fallen down of it's own accord.
