Guide Item Flipping! A New Practice For Profit!

There is a practice that has existed since the beginning of business; buy low, sell high. With the addition of the new "marketplace" in Wynncraft, there is now the opportunity to do the same here.

Item Flipping is a common MMORPG term used to describe buying items for a low price, and reselling them for a higher price in order to profit. This is how it works:

As you can see, this person is selling 42 Granite Gems for 13 Emeralds each.

When I price check this item, I can see that this is currently the LOWEST price that Granite Gems are going for at the moment.

If I BUY the Granite Gems for their LOWEST Price (13 Emerald Each), then RESELL them for lets say 16 Emeralds Each, then MY Granite Gems will now be going for the lowest price on the market, which means that if someone purchases Granite Gems, it will automatically buy them from me, thus profiting me.

Now here is where a bit of competition comes in:

There is another practice in free market economics, and that is called "undercutting".

Lets say that my previously resold Granite Gems are on the market, waiting to be bought by someone. Another player sees that I am the lowest price that they are going for, and so in order to make sure that their gems sell, they make their gems cheaper than mine. This means that my gems are no longer the lowest selling Gems, and i'll either have to buy the person's gems and resell them AGAIN to make mine the lowest, or wait much longer before my gems sell. This is all part of the exciting fun of Wynncraft economics. I hope this guide has been helpful, and good luck flipping!

Other Tips for Maximizing Profit:
1. Invest in popular items, so that your resold items will be bought more quickly
2. Patience is key, make sure to be patient when waiting for your items to sell
3. Do not resell items for TOO high or they will be easier to undercut as well as take longer to sell.​

These are two different things. His flipping means using negative stats to make positive stats. My flipping is reselling items for profit

Businesses do it all the time, its part of economics. You buy products that cost like 3x what they cost to make and manufacture

Not really. It's helpful for consumers in the long run (well except for when producers drive their market into the ground, which can happen for certain commodities). And plus you also have buyers bidding prices up as a counter, which means prices generally don't just die - given that no single producer/consumer is big enough to significantly affect the market at their whim, there is low information asymmetry, etc.

I don’t think it will really affect it that much. The tax isn’t deducted from the seller, it’s added to the buy price.

 

I mean it’s been done in other games and some guilds can actually probably have a massive effect on the economy *cough* Kingdom of Foxes/Imperial
