Interesting Crafting Feature: Flipping

at first, i thought crafting would be lame and uninteresting, putting 6 good items in the grid without any room for inventiveness, but something makes it much more worthwhile than i thought.
@from and i were messing around with crafting and found that the best way of crafting items is by utilizing what we like to call "flipping".

i'll go explain how it works then i'll give some nice examples and then you should understand

1. how it works​

lets say you have some generic item with -50 durability and +10% earth damage

if you add -100% effectiveness to this item all of its stats will get multiplied by (1+(-100%)) or just 0. effectively making it so that item appears to not have existed

anything below -100% will flip the sign and then would be multiplied by the extra percent. so for example
-110% will flip the sign and be multiplied by 10%

this is how -150% effectiveness would work

the stats will start to flip. hope u understand now

2. creativity ​

because of this, and because of items such as

you can actually put thought into your crafted items. here are a few examples of some nice tech using decaying heart and obelisk core

heres an examples of some innovative use of flipping:

because effectiveness% doesnt actually affect other effectiveness%, this is what would happen.
it gives you a flipped decaying heart ( + 80 durability ) and 3 spots with lots of +effectiveness,
basically like adding 7 items to a crafting grid and getting a free 80 durability along with it.

3. conclusion​

wynncraft did a great job of making the crafting system not stale. i hope other people can create some nice items with this in mind too

Someone could ask "But why the obelisk core? You lost 160 durablity from it, you may ask."
The real genius in that tech is that the decaying heart removes the 160 durablity loss.

It's a very intresting system, and it will be intresting to toy around with.

 

Now we are sad that they didnt let me abuse this shit with scribing....
All i wanted to do was yeet the shit outa ppl with -health -health regen raw/% and -ws :(

So far the best is jsut gelatinous slime with like -7ws x 6....

 

Hmm I thought that ingredient effectiveness didn't affect durability...


Does that mean that a simple combo like pride of the heights + ingredient with - 100 durability would make the ingredient have -200 durability?

See that was a though but none of the -dmg % really give more then like 4% no? I haven't looked at that but its like -1 to -4 in both right?

You can yeet level 1-35 people with up to -800 hp
Though it's less useful on higher levels and the duration is garbage

I’ve also made some pretty nice -walk speed scrolls with long durations from the slime
So I’m guessing you would spam those right before a dungeon boss so ppl can’t /class and get rid of it

 

Duration on -health scrolls dont matter to much since its like taking off an armour peice.
u get yeeted from say 1k down to 200. Even if it only lasts for a second u stay at 200 till u heal.

Sure its nice if it lasts longer but it doesnt matter to much.
-ws ones do matter for duration doe.
I still need to test if u can spin attack/heal off the negatives or not.

If you use this with 3x familiar essence you can just get an easy 7 mana regen and I'm pretty sure you'd gain durability.

So basically, how hard are they gonna nerf this because this shit is broken.

You get it from Deja Vu and it gives you 1 mana regen for -8 durability. It's for armouring and tailoring.

Yeah you can just put that in whenever you have a spare slot and don't want to waste durability. It's kinda crazy. Not sure if you can get them from loot chests though, I'd hope so.
