"Exactly."
Crystal nods.

 

She looks to see what kind of being the corpse was, concerned.

“I wonder if the person who made all this still lives here. I mean, they’d be able to explain... well, maybe not that shell thing.”

 

It seems to be a fire guardian, by the looks of things reaching out to pick up Ihra's staff before their life was drained from them.

 

"Did they live here in the first place?"

 

"That could've been a lot worse..." Ihra sighs, picking up her staff.

"That's a good point. I guess they really wouldn't need to."

 

"...Did one person do all this?"

 

"Oh, that ought to get my attention."

 

Ihra's staff feels a little bit more powerful, in addition to her own boost in strength. Holding it again feels like an extension of Ihra's body and soul; moreso if she already felt such a connection.

 

Ihra, a bit surprised and now suspicious, heads back up the safer path with staff in tow as she looks for the bearded shadow once again.

"Yeah. I promise I won't burn anything down."

"According to what's in the library, yes."

 

"Woah."
Crystal looks up and around.

 

The bearded Shadow seems to be meditating under the tree in the center of the pool, the water completely still.

 

Ihra opts to just continue out into the field and watch you from a distance, idly waiting for you to finish.

The skies seem empty, hold a scrawny cloud winding its way across the blue.
There's some cat-like creature hanging upside-down from a distant tree, watching Crystal intently.

 

Crystal watches it back, shifting his eyes along his head so he can properly look at it as he walks.

 

"I suppose it's best we meet at night then? Cause of how fire lits up."

 

The training seems to have changed from dodging tiny projectiles to precisely cutting larger ones in certain directions. The projectiles come extremely fast, though none make it past.

At the end of the training, I seem to face a demon of some kind. I'm forced to use all my trained skills to defeat it, though I manage to with ease. Quite a few others seem to struggle with their own demons.

 

Ihra smiles as you do so, though it seems more of a nervous smile than happy.

“Sure, I’ll be there just after sunset.”

The cat’s tail swishes back and forth slowly, the creature seeming to try and process what it’s looking at.

 

I head inside the temple once I'm finished, not noticing Ihra at all.

 

Ihra heads inside the temple after you, a bit unsure how to approach.

 

I step in the pool to heal my injuries, a few scratches from training. As I do so, I notice Ihra's figure, calmly looking over.

 

“Didn’t pick an easy place to find you.” She giggles.
