Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal gingerly takes the lead.

I'll start writing as message.

 

Ihra's powers seem to disappear completely, the gem on her staff going grey. It seems Ihra will need to find a new way to both fight the beast and avoid the incoming projectile.

 

Ihra beats her wings to try and evade, trying once again to envelop her claws in light along with a few other natural spells she usually has, such as trying to grow vines to snare the beast.

“Only one of us will be.”

The butterfly flutters off as he enters, Linoa not far behind.
“Well... I guess we just pick a place to start looking for nature’s abominations?” She shrugs.

 

Ihra manages to barely get away with her damaged wings, though when she tries out some of her magic spells, she feels a slight telepathic connection form with one of them.

 

Crystal sticks out his finger, layers over his eyes and spins around.
"Uuuuuuhhhhhhhh..."
Crystal stops, and points back to the portal.
"...Not that way."
He does a 180 and points the other way.
"That way."

 

I'll start writing.

'There's something I want to ask, that I heard you might know. Can I meet any of you somewhere to help me?'

 

She tries repeating the cast to form the link.
“What is this place?” She tries asking, keeping an eye on the beast’s next move.

You hear the sound of stone falling to the ground in the other room.

Linoa chuckles before heading off in the direction Crystal indicated, seeming to lead to a sparse forest off in the distance.

 

Crystal follows at her side.

 

Instead of a link forming, she feel's Artemis' presence. Artemis appears in the colosseum with Ihra, though she doesn't seem to be aware of it; as if controlled like a puppet. She draws her bow, aiming for the now-distracted beast and shooting it in the eye.

It seems raw strength isn't the key to beating this battle.

 

"You doing okay in there?"

 

Ihra tries to run behind the beast, seeing if she's able to influence Artemis' actions.

"I'm not the one you should really be worrying about."

Linoa stops suddenly, a bit startled as a patch of grass uncoils to reveal itself as spines coming out of a snake with a butterfly's tongue.
"I... what."

 

"Didn't you say there was gonna be stuff here?"
Crystal asks in a hushed tone.

 

Artemis seems to be just a projection of Ihra's memories of her, though she does grow vines around it's feet to prevent it from turning to face Ihra. Ihra's power feeling stronger, she finds a kind projection of Abigail offering her help, waiting behind the beast.

 

Ihra tries thinking about Abigail, mind also slipping to Katie, Stephanie, and Aj as she looks to find some weak point on the beast.

"I mean, we've found one thing already. Besides, who would want to live in a geneticist's playground? I mean, other than maybe the geneticist themselves." Linoa mumbles as the snake opts to curl up again.

 

Abigail throws a heavy fireball onto the beasts back, burning away it's fur as Katie bursts through the ground. Ihra's lifted up on a pillar of ice as the beast turns to face her, the projection of Artemis fading along with it's vines. A bright light blinds the beast temporarily, Stephanie shining a radiant crystal in it's eyes from the edge of the colosseum as I fly down and grab Ihra. Ihra's flown above the beasts burnt back, Shadow Katana being put in her hand before she's dropped towards it.

 

Ihra uses her damages wings to dive faster at the beast, cutting it as wide open as she can with renewed hope.

 

Shadow Katana cuts through the beast easily, light pouring out of it's wound. Once Ihra safely reaches the ground by cutting through, the beast explodes into what seems to be a mass of fireflies; small lights floating away and disappearing. The projections disappear, along with Ihra's weapon, and a large star-shaped crystal drops from where the beast's heart would've been. The crystal clinks on the ground, glowing.

 

“I mean, you seemed confused, so why?”

 

Curious, Ihra tries to pick it up.

“I know it was supposed to be strange, but... straight up someone just threw animals together and let it loose here. If that’s this whole planet, then I don’t want to know its worst.”
