Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“The naga that live there are pretty reclusive. As for charms, which ones are you looking for?”

 

"Ones that let you see ghosts."

"I know, it sounds weird."

 

"Mm."
Crystal nods.

 

The beast gets blinded by dirt and rock, trying to get it out of it's face. Ihra's wind magic seems to have been disabled, doing little more than just disturbing some dust.

 

Ihra tries to see if there's anything below the beast worth striking as she prepares another ice spike, hurling it towards the beast's neck as hard as she can.

"Also, they'll probably try to rebuild here, and removing parts would just make everything take longer than usual. Other than that..."
Linoa pushes a pile of rocks out of a portal frame before sighing.
"Of course, this got messed up too. Hold on a sec..." She says, reverting back to draconian form.

"Not really, spirits are everywhere. May as well be wary of the surroundings you can't see... that being said, the naga in the swamp would be able to help you, but I don't know if they make charms with that sort of magic. Nobody else I can think of really bothers with spectral magics."

 

The beast manages to get the dirt out of it's eyes and parry the ice spike just in time, hitting it in such a way it's reflected back at Ihra.

 

Crystal sits on some rubble and looks around to see if anything else is here.

 

Ihra starts strafing once she notices the beast got rid of the dirt, but she tries to use the incoming ice spike to make a stronger ice spike to hurl back.

Not really. A few shriveled remains of dead plants (and bodies) are left among the ruin, but there isn't a whole lot to look at.

 

Crystal looks at his feet, avoiding the sight of the bodies.

 

"And.. what would I need to do to be able to talk with the Naga? Seeing as they are reclusive."

 

“I don’t know, I’ve seen one of them come into town for a medicine but they didn’t speak of how to check up on them. You could try to leave them a message by leaving something next to the swamp. Anything left in the swamp vanishes overnight, and I’d guess it would be the naga taking them.”

After what seems like five minutes, the portal frame starts glowing.
“There we go... I wonder where Gaia even went, anyways. Whatever, not why we’re here.”

 

Ihra successfully manages to make the ice spike stronger and send it back, but the beast simply parries it again; this time the spike moving even faster toward Ihra.

 

"I could leave a letter or something? With some food."

"What do Naga eat?"

 

"You first."
Crystal approaches the portal.

 

Realizing she can't dodge without the gust of wind, she tries doing the same thing again.

"Scared?" Linoa teases as the portal stabilizes into an open field with a singular flower.

"I don't know. They've taken everything, including the occasional piece of garbage. We don't have a whole lot to go on."

 

"I think a message works best. Got a pencil and paper?"

 

"There's a pen on the request forms next to the chair in the room to the left of the entry. I'll grab some paper from the back." She says, leaving the hammer and chisel on the front desk.

 

I'll search for the pen.

 

“Nuh-uh.”
Crystal shakes his head as he looks inside.

 

It’s right where she said it was, albeit in a cup with several other pens.

She puts a piece of paper down on the front desk, then picks up her tools.
“Alright, while you write that I’m going to handle the intruder.”

There are a few birds flying around, and a butterfly idling on the flower.
“Why don’t you take the lead, then?”
