Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The mushroom comes free quite easily, a few spores dropping from under it's cap.

 

Crystal eagerly follows.
“Woah. What happened?”

 

Ihra seems unsure what to do with it, glancing at her gifted charm for advice - albeit not with much confidence.
Assuming it doesn’t react, she tries getting the spores on the charm.

“Atavul happened.” Linoa says, kicking up dust as she wades through rubble.

 

The charm doesn't do anything. It just seems to be a storage for magic.

Judging by the lack of corpses around, the mushrooms probably aren't toxic.

 

Ihra tries eating one, starving anyways.

 

Ihra immediately begins to hallucinate, before passing out.

Ihra wakes up...somewhere different. She seems to be standing in a colosseum, invisible crowds cheering her on as the ground shakes. A large beat seems to be approaching the gate opposite her, and all Ihra has in front of her for weaponry is a simple looking staff. Far less powerful than her own.

 

She checks her wounds, and how much magic the staff can output.

 

Ihra seems completely fine, but the staff can only perform basic elemental spells. Summoning lightning, sending a bolt of ice or a ball of fire, and summoning a small spike of earth seem to be the core of what it can do.

 

Ihra tests to see if she can use her own light magic, though stops partway to look at what she's being pit against.

 

Ihra's light magic fails as a gigantic, armoured beast smashes through the gate. The gate flies toward Ihra, only slowing when it drags along the ground to a halt. The beast seems to be holding a gigantic hammer, and an extremely broad broadsword. Armour covers it like its skin, and judging by the looks of it, it's close to inpenertable. The beat roars as soon as it sees Ihra, charging towards her and preparing to smash her into nothing with it's hammer.

 

Ihra starts by flinging a fireball towards one of its hands and trying to throw herself out of the beast's path with a gust of wind.

 

The fireball dissipates uselessly on the armour of the beast, though Ihra just manages to avoid getting squished as the beast quickly turns to face her.

 

"Fine. Have it your way."

 

Ihra tries to throw an ice shard into its eye, though her aim is fairly poor as she focuses on using another gust of wind to help her evade.

 

The ice shard is ineffective too, the beast's helmet blocking it. Ihra notices the beast seems to be paying particular attention to making sure it's always facing her, the beast cancelling another pound with it's hammer to face her.

 

"I'm just saying that I don't know if you'll be able to smell it from halfway across the settlement."

Ihra tries to cut it closer with the timing of the hammer swing, instead launching herself up and to the side, preparing a bolt of electricity to throw on her way back to the ground.

 

The beast looks like it's about to hit Ihra with the hammer, before suddenly bringing it's blade down on the other side, trying to cut Ihra in half.

 

Ihra tries to roll out of the way and fire the bolt at the sword itself.

 

The sword remains unaffected, though ends up cutting off some of Ihra's wings. Strangely, it's not as painful as Ihra would think it would be; and there's no blood. The sword appears to get stuck in the ground, the beast struggling for a second to pull it out; unable to turn to face Ihra.

 

Ihra uses another burst of wind to get behind it, trying to drop a rock on the back of its head as she looks for any more visible weak spots.
