Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra trudges halfway up the trail before stumbling, crawling the rest of the way up with a burning drive visible in her eyes.

 

The wind is cool, and Ihra's wounds start to hurt a little less. For a moment, being on the mountain doesn't feel as challenging.

 

Ihra doesn’t notice at all, pressing on as she starts to slow down - acting like there’s still a mountain left to climb.

 

“How’d you know?”

 

“Everyone usually asks Emerald everything first.”

 

"Wasn't it at the town square?"

 

“Yeah. If you’re giving me an excuse to walk less, I’ll take it, though.”

 

"Well, nobody can, now."

 

"Of course. Most people haven't realized so many of us are reliant on her until she left. Now? Well... if we've got the Hive Master letting up a bit, I don't know how many bigger signs there are that we might have a problem." She sighs. "I mean, sure, it's to his benefit too, but it wasn't hard for him to keep the pressure on us beforehand."

 

"What's going on with that war stuff, anyways?"

 

"Climb aboard. I'll search for the bakery using its scent."

 

"I mean, you could also just look for the sign." She says, hopping back onto your shoulder.

"It's been a stalemate in terms of territory, but for obvious reasons we can't go on forever when we actually die and they just get reborn."

 

"Right."
Crystal nods.

 

Linoa snaps a cover shut on her staff, before flipping down an eyepiece and moving the staff around a bit.
“Well, I guess you had coincidentally good timing, if you wanted me to do something.”

 

The rest of the mountain path is easy, until Ihra finds a block in her path. A earth guardian statue blocks the way forward, it's arms crossed. Nearby, a forest guardian statue seems to be kneeling down, tending to some blue mushrooms with yellow stars on them.

 

“Sure.”
Crystal hops off the bench.
“Wanna do somethin’? Fight? Fly? I dunno.”

 

Ihra finally stops to somewhat tend to her wounds, using her acidic saliva to melt her shoulder mostly closed before finally passing out.

”Not gonna take you up on a sparring match, just got back from battle. I’m down for flying, but it’d be better you choose the location because frankly I’ve been a lot more places than you have.”

 

"Well, wouldn't that mean that you choose the place, because there's so many more options?"

 

“I don’t usually like making too many duplicate flights, but I could if you don’t want to pick.”

 

"Well, I don't really know where to go, so I don't wanna."
