Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra makes another run at it, attempting to make the last jump instead of using her last bit of energy to try and scramble upwards.

 

"I don't know myself as much as I think I do, so I can't tell either."

 

Ihra manages to make it this time, but she begins to slip back down the wet foothold she has.

 

She tries continuing on with all fours, using her tail to maybe push her along slightly as she glares at the path ahead.

“We’ll find someone who knows. Eventually.”

 

There doesn't appear to be much path ahead, a giant gap from Ihra's current perspective. Ihra's struggling seems to drain her energy much faster, moving barely centimeters at a time but easily slipping and losing all of her progress; barely able to hold on for much longer.

 

Ihra looks around quickly, trying to find some even slightly more stable ground.

 

The only stable ground is up ahead, and Ihra's quickly running out of grip strength. It seems to be all or nothing.

 

“Why am I even holding back...?”
Ihra lets out a low growl as she stops doing just that, riding adrenaline to help her push past the pain and then pushing harder as her thoughts narrow to nothing but moving forward.

 

Ihra manages to crawl onto the ledge and onto safety with her last shred of energy, ready to fall asleep for the night with no energy left in her bones.

 

She pants as she sits down, looking at whatever’s ahead of her with no regard to her pain.
“Funny... how that girl... knew I’d... come here...” She mutters between breaths.

 

There seems to be a mass of spikes with tiny platforms on the tips of some. Judging by the mass of skeletons on them, anyone who managed to make it this far were finished off by them. Some skeletons seem to even be wearing armour that proved useless, the spike piercing large holes through them.

 

“I notice a lack of flight, and fight at that...” She sighs, laying down and blacking out.

 

Ihra wakes up at midday, a few dangerous looking birds seeming to be eyeing her from the spikes.

 

“Oh wonderful, you’re impatient.” She grumbles, standing up again and stretching.

 

The birds fly away once Ihra gets up, leaving behind a feather.

 

Ihra eyes the feather, particularly where it was left, as well as if there’s any way whatsoever to climb back up if she fell; ignoring the spikes.

 

It just seems be a normal black feather, left on the second jump Ihra needs to make. If Ihra falls and doesn't get impaled, the only way back up seems to be climbing the spikes themselves.

 

I simply nod at the statement.

 

“Can I see?”

 

Ihra tries to toss something to see if the platforms are unstable, then looks to see how many apparent platform paths there are.

Linoa tosses a charred gem towards Crystal.
“I’m almost done closing the internals back up, but that’s what I killed.”

“Well... where to now?”
