Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Without light pollution, there's a pleasant moonlit view over the kingdom in the distance. The funnel looks harder than it did before, somehow.

 

“Hey!”
He runs up to her.

 

“Of course, time is of the essence.” Ihra mumbles, looking at how much of a runway she has.

She looks up.
“Oh, hey! Long time, no see.”

 

“Yeah! Whaddya doin’?”

 

There seems to be much more of a runway than last time, allowing for a faster run up.

 

Ihra takes as much of the runway she’s given, charging at the wall before starting her run up.
It seems she’s better at leaping between wall runs than she is at the wall runs themselves.

“Just replacing a burnt out charm. Overclocked it for too long.”

 

Ihra slips halfway, the walls feeling wet and slippery. A little further up, Ihra can see some of the stream that runs down the mountain; pouring down the funnel.

 

She tries to stand up again, looking for drier spots.

 

Ihra ends up sliding down the funnel to where she started, the only dry spots at the bottom.

 

She sighs, seeming a bit annoyed but nods at the water.
“Can’t wing it anymore, I guess... gotta flow.” She thinks, walking back to make the run-up again.

This time, when she leaps off one side, she tries to land in a way that she doesn’t need to push off with her feet to continue the run, reducing the risk of slipping.

 

Ihra manages to get up most of the funnel this time, before she suddenly feels a force start to drag her down, killing her momentum and leaving her out of reach of the overhang.

 

She scrambles to close the rest of the distance, suddenly determined as she refuses to look down.

 

Ihra seems like she's just barely going to make it, but as she grabs the overhang, it breaks apart and drops Ihra back down the funnel rather painfully.

 

She crawls away from the funnel to avoid getting pelted by falling rock, seeming winded.
“Just gets harder the longer I take, doesn’t it...” She sighs, forgetting she can’t use magic to help dull her pain.

 

Ihra's bruises ache, and she was lucky not to roll off the edge down the mountain. Clearly, the mountain isn't pulling any punches.

 

"Why did you bring it up then? You made it sound like I could do it."

 

She stretches out her aches a bit, seeming a bit competetive.
“Fine, if you won’t keep yourself together, I suppose I just need to outlast you.” She mumbles, standing up again - albeit a bit shaky.

“Well maybe you can, I don’t know. I’m not you.”

 

There's a few crumbling patches where the water has eroded the climb through years of running through, disturbed by Ihra's attempt.

 

Ihra looks for any part of the ledge that looks more stable than what she tried to grab as she gets ready to make another attempt.

 

The overhang seems to have turned into the top of the last wall of the funnel; a much wider jump but a possible one regardless.
