Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra's exhaustion seems to pile on her, making a few minutes of rest turn into a hour-long nap.

Once Ihra wakes up, it's dark. Stars twinkle in a sky lit by an oddly bright moon, galaxies creating a backdrop.

 

"I... really don't know" She admits.

She looks up, yawning.
"A visit to Caelia might've been nice too..." She thinks, stretching.

 

“Do you need help?”

 

"I'm fine." She says, rolling over.

 

“Okay!”
Pause.
“Uh, hey, do you know where Linoa is?”

 

"Linoa... uh... give me a minute." She says, straightening herself out.
"There's too many mortals to remember them all. Uh... do you have anything more than just a name?"

 

“Wife ‘a Rineth. Spear lady.”
Crystal excitedly comments, shifting some of his body to make a crystal spear in his hands.

 

“Oh, the little destroyer. Sure, I think she’s in the gardens right now.”

 

"Uhh, where's that, again?"

 

"Outside, as in out in the courtyard. Well, just past the courtyard. Or in it? Emerald never told me what a courtyard was..."

 

"Well, I'll find it!"
Crystal jogs off to find the gardens.

 

"Nullmagic? Nullmagic... hmm. Can't say I have?"

 

Ihra notices a pair of eyes on her, a small black lizard watching her from a rock.

 

The main palace doors are open enough for Crystal to get through easily, stairs leading down to a plaza with a single flower in a protective box.

Further out, there are a few hedges and fewer flowers growing off to the sides. It seems like the closest thing to a garden Crystal sees.

She looks over at the lizard.
“I guess that being that size would help with living here...”
Pause.
“Oh.”

“It is what it sounds like, it nullifies the effects of certain types of magic. It’s technically magic itself, but it doesn’t really serve any purpose other than to negate a spell that’s causing a problem.”

 

"Can I do that?"

 

“I don’t know, but you could probably learn. Nobody really knows any around here, though.”

 

The lizard skitters away almost immediately, disappearing into a crack in the mountain.

 

Ihra stretches again, looking at the view as she prepares to give the funnel an attempt.

 

Crystal explores the garden to find Linoa, careful not to touch any plants.

 

He finds her sitting on a bench, seeming to be attaching a part or two to her staff.
