Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The ledge begins to crumble as she grips it. If she doesn't get up fast, she'll surely fall.

 

She tries to scramble up, her mind set on outwitting at least one crumbling ledge as she swings her tail a bit to give herself a bit of upwards momentum.

 

Ihra barely manages to make it up in time, and she's exhausted when she does. However, she has little time to breathe, as the edge of the pathway seems to crumble away with her added weight. If she stays too long, there'll be no path for her to stand on.

 

Ihra huffs, getting up and looking for the next obstacle as she keeps moving.

“I will not be forgotten... not here, not yet...” She thinks, seeming more alert than usual if not little more than riding adrenaline.

 

The path keeps crumbling for what seems a mile up the mountain, slowly closing in on Ihra until she gets to another checkpoint just milliseconds before the end of the path disappears under her feet.

 

She looks up to see how much further she goes, seeming a bit more confident than she was earlier.
“You know, mountain, I could be jinxing myself, but part of me tells you that you don’t kill to scare but to bring every last shred of being someone has.” She says between breaths.

 

"Yeah, physical strenght, but I can't beat magic."

 

“Ever heard of nullmagic? That’d even the field.”

 

The mountain doesn't respond, being a non-living piece of rock.

There's a skeleton resting against the mountain wall, seeming to have sat down for a rest which turned eternal.

 

Ihra starts to sit down before stopping, standing up straighter and looking at how far she has left to go.
“I mean, at least he’s not somewhere in the edge of the Void...” She sighs.

 

The mountaintop looks a little bit closer than when Ihra was half-way, but it still seems like it'll take the night to make any significant progress.

 

She stretches out a bit, looking at the next obstacle (or two, if possible).

 

It seems to be another of the flat walls, though this one requires jumping from wall to wall up a funnel.

 

Ihra sighs, sitting down.
“Okay, fine. A little air.” She mumbles, trying to see how many obstacles are left.

 

It's hard to see what lies ahead, though by the looks of things, the obstacles are only going to get harder.

 

Ihra moves over enough to try and see if she'll be able to take multiple attempts at the funnel or if a fall is fatal.

 

The fall seems to vary from painful to fatal, depending on how far up Ihra gets. The ledge appears to be an overhang too, making the final grab a lot harder.

 

Crystal debates approaching before running off to Xlentia’s chambers.

 

Ihra goes back to looking out at the view and takes a few minutes to rest.

Xlentia seems to have twisted herself in an odd-looking position.
"Oh. Hi."

 

Crystal himself seems to be a bit more paunched than usual.
“Hey! Whaddya doing?”
