Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal's eyes roll along his head to point at the centaur.
"Well, where is she?"

 

“If any of the search parties sent out came back, we might know.”

 

“Well, where did they go?”

 

“Void edge. That was the last place anyone was able to get in contact with Emerald, mostly because things start to just not work the closer you get to the edge.”

 

"Well, why'd she go out there?"

 

"She doesn't exactly tell us why she does what she does. If she's got some crazy scheme for us all, we're probably gonna wind up making things go her way."

 

A few skeletons accompany Ihra, bones sun-bleached and cracked. Up ahead, Ihra can see more serious climbing challnges, like climbing up and over the bottom of an overhang, before needing to jump to a small ledge.

 

"That could prove useful."

 

She blinks before sighing, leaving her staff propped against the mountain as she gets up to press on.

“I’d do it more often but it’s hard to get the people out of the illusion... without serious harm, at least.”

 

Öh, like slap them out of it?"

 

"How long's she been gone?"

 

The challenges up ahead prove even more taxing to Ihra, the height of the mountain making the drops far more dangerous. As Ihra climbs, a few rocks become loose and tumble down the mountain.

 

"Almost a month and a half now."

"Actually, like knock them unconscious out of it."

Ihra glances down at the necklace she was gifted.
"If this is keeping me alive..."
She ignored the loose rocks, pressing on with some renewed willpower after having looked down.

 

Somehow, Ihra's willpower seems to be enough to get her all the way to the halfway point; a strong determination inside her soul. The corpses seem to become fewer and fewer as Ihra progresses, the weak being separated from the strong. Another sign rests at what seems to be a fairly well used campfire spot at the halfway point, and nearby seems to be a source of water.

 

She looks at the sign before touching the surface of the water gently with a claw.
"I wonder who made this..."
After poking the water, she looks up towards the top of the mountain.

 

“That’s not good.”
Crystal comments before rolling out of the library and to the training room.

 

"Oh.. that's a bit much."

 

"Exactly why I don't do it often."

"That's an understatement."

The training room doors are wide open, though it seems the room is currently being used for weapon repair and maintenance.

 

The water is clear and fresh, coming from somewhere up the mountain.

The top of the mountain looks barely closer than it did before, and the path seems to turn from less climbing into more ruthless obstacles; long thin ledges and spiky climbing walls marking a couple of the trials Ihra must overcome.

 

"That's quite some powerful magic. Wish I could do something like that."

"All I can do is shapeshift."
