The Secret Feature

Not sure if anyone has talked about this but...

As you can see there is a shield slot now, not to mention the 1.12 crafting book, the shield slot as you'd expect it would most likely have a purpose so it needs something to be put in it, perhaps it could use the old shield texture that is still used in some cases that appeared on you when you wore armor when armorskins when they were still available as it fits the pixel size and shape.

So yes the probabilities of this are rather high as nothing about them were mentioned, so how could the shield be used? Perhaps just like a normal minecraft shield or it could have a system similar to wynncraft weapons, a click system which would allow you to do certain tricks, here are a few I made myself, none of these have upgrades though and the better the shield, the more spells it has.

Normal Block: A normal shield block
Shield Charge: You do a quick small charge (one that definitely isn't near the power of a warrior charge but has better damage than one) that goes through enemies damaging them powerfully (R+L+R)
Shield Twirl: Like the assassin spin but much faster and knocks and stuns your enemies (R+R+R)
Shield Throw: Throw your shield ripping through enemies doing minor damage to them and boomeranging back doing some more (R+L+L)
(I guess?) Shield Surf: Surf on your shield and move yourself via your weapon as you slide across but also endangering yourself as collision into a mob or a block will break your ride (not break the shield of course) and do damage to you (R+R+L)

Now yes these perks sound like Captain America's Shield but I'm not sure if they'll be anywhere near this powerful, anyways the secret areas locations are often found in a few places that will probably catch your eye, that being Detlas, Cinfras, and Corkus, telling by the size of the small shack it's too small for an auction house as people say, but a NPC selling shields could fit in! Shields can only be bought via a merchant or in some cases crafted. Now I know this is starting to sound more like a suggestion but just stick with me. Shields could usually be only accessible if you did something special, say a quest or a discovery. Shields would cost say a good price for it's abilities as it basically is a new defensive item. If a shield were crafted it would contain respective attributes the ingredients you poured into it contained which would make it useful.

Anyways, I may be wrong entirely and it could be anything else than what we could imagine but I suppose we'll have to wait, also my idea isn't really balanced.

TLDR: Shields may be the feature and things like spells may be adjacent for them and they could be only sold by a merchant or crafted.

They didn't mention anything about an auction house and it's probably an action house because all the places of the secret feature were in the big towns

 

I bet many interesting things will happen there!

There already is a trade market on the forums, also the feature has to be something exciting and fun not just to sell your excess items.

An auction house is one of the most requests to be added to the game, it's more convincing that the NPCs that are only in the three major towns to be an auction house because of how big it will be and the number of people who will gather will be much more than adding three merchants for shields.

Also, the trade market is good but not enough because of the amount of work needed to make a thread that is good and sells good things and even though i have some good armor/weapons to sell that will get me 32-64Le i didn't do it because of the amount of time to create the thread and the hassle of meeting someone to sell/buy something too.

 

And how would you solve the problem of spell casting, when these shield use the same clicking combinations as 3 classes do?

 

We all know the secret feature is housing

Why is everybody focusing on the auction house and not asking "just what the heck is this new slot"

 

An auction house would easily be 10x better than fucking shields... I hope to god it isnt shields, I'd literally kill myself.

All memes aside, it's most likely an auction house. While the trade market exists it make it relatively difficult to sell items, is a huge break in immersion, and overall is just not useful compared to having a system ingame that could be used to immediately sell items of all sorts to all players of Wynn..

 

I never really liked the idea of a auction house, it's far too predictable, also for such a small and un-spacious build it feels out of place, but it could be possible.

What about both? Also shields would be useful for a mob that's fast and has high dmg, say Corrupter Of Worlds, if he does the annoying multi-hit attack your shield would absorb the dmg given making you come out fine, anyways an auction house could be the thing but it feels far too predictable.

 

tbh I don't think shields will fit to be a secret feature for the "Economy Update" because shields have nothing to do with the economy but with an auction house it has so many related things to the economy and it fits to be a secret feature but who knows they might add something that no one thought of.
