Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“I’m technically a queen. With subjects. I’m just not fond of being a queen.”

 

Most insects just go to feed from the flowers, while a few arachnids lie in wait for an insect to get within snatching range. A butterfly flutters down to a flower, before skittishly flying away once a spider begins to crawl toward it.

 

Ihra finds the rush amusing, growing a few more flowers in the area.

 

Fewer insects come in comparison to the trail of footprints left behind by Gaia, but insects do come. A few bees harvest pollen from the flowers before flying off in search of more, while ants scale the flowers only to climb back down them.

 

Ihra turns back to see if Artemis already left.

 

Artemis seems to be chatting with a group of forest guardians a bit of a distance away, one of them seeming to demonstrate something with their bow.

 

"Do you have people who listen to you though?"

 

I head inside, de-leash Buddy, and look around for dog-care essentials.


“I won’t, just for you.”
Voidfiller mocks before the ball’s light fades.

 

Ihra watches, a bit curious.

“Yes. They do listen to me.”

There’s a tub of dog food and a scoop near the food and water bowls in the kitchen, though Buddy wastes no time starting on the water bowl.

 

Artemis copies the forest guardian, and they watch her before adjusting her stance a bit and nodding. They then seem to go into detail about arrows, comparing their's to Artemis' and seeming to point a few things out. Another forest guardian raises their hand, one of the trees seeming to fire an arrow toward their hand which they catch. They show it to Artemis, and Artemis nods, seeming to understand.

 

I use the scoop to fill the food bowl halfway, then I make sure it’s next to the water bowl.

 

Ihra hesitates before stepping towards the guardians.
"Hey, Artemis, I almost forgot something." She calls. "Do you have a second?"

The moment you fill the food bowl he begins eating, giving you... maybe a minute to refill the water bowl.

 

I use that time to refill the bowl.

 

"Making sure, that's all."

 

“Some of my subjects will be at the wedding, though. I don’t want them there, but I wasn’t fond of the king that was chosen to rule alongside me. So, you get to fill in the titular hole that’s been there for three years and someone needs to be there to record it.”

The sink has a temperature dial, but it doesn’t have an obvious way to turn it on or off.

 

"As long as they aren't too much trouble, then I'm fine with them coming to the wedding."

 

“I’ll make sure they aren’t.” Anne says smugly. “Worst case scenario, they won’t for long. And I promise I won’t make a scene out of it if they do.”

 

Artemis glances over, before saying something to the guardians and walking over.

"Yes?" Artemis asks.

 

"Promise?"

 

I turn the dial to a colder setting before checking to see if it uses a motion sensor.
