'" Well.. we're on an island, the beach is big."

 

Ihra heads in her direction.
“Artemis!”

“I mean the one we first met him on. Northwest, straight north from here.”

 

"Alright. Though he is busy with transporting people from and to the island, so he might not be there."

 

All it seems to achieve is an arrow flying straight towards Ihra's head, various forest guardians seeming to be dodging around the trees.

 

Ihra lets it bounce off her staff.

“Ah, training...”

“We could just ask him whenever he gets back here.”

 

One of the guardians attempting to dodge the arrows ends up getting hit, the arrow piercing his neck as he falls to the ground; bleeding to death. None of the other guardians seem particularly shocked by this, however.

 

I slow my pace to match his.


“What happened before?”

 

He slows slightly more, staying slightly behind you.


“...Never mind.”

Ihra doesn’t interfere, though she’s a bit offput by the sight.

 

The training goes on for a while, until all of the guardians are either dead or run away to a safe distance. Artemis steps out of the trees, vines completely covering her eyes.

 

“Poor timing aside...” Ihra says, keeping an eye on Artemis.

 

"Mhm."

"So.. as for the wedding. What else needs to be done?"

 

Artemis points an arrow at Ihra with lightning fast reactions, before pausing.

"Ihra?" Artemis asks, vines uncovering her eyes.

 

“Well, I still need to send invites to people, and a tent or something would be nice to keep out rain.”

“Surprise?” She asks with a nervous smile.

 

Artemis seems overjoyed, running up to Ihra and giving her a hug.

"It's so good to see you! How'd you get here?" Artemis asks happily.

 

“I asked Gaia.” Ihra says, hugging Artemis back with a bit more strength than she remembered.

 

"Did you ask her just to visit me?" Artemis asks, surprised.

 

“There were other matters, but she actually offered to come let me see you again. Though, uh... you didn’t die... did you?”

 

Artemis shakes her head.

"I came here to train. Gaia tells me my mother did the same thing, which is why she let me," Artemis explains, "Things haven't been getting better in your reality or in mine. Apparently Lux is still angry about how Xlentia erased his child, and Tenebrae asked Aj and I to try and stop him."

 

“Still?” Ihra asks, annoyed. “For a god, he’s an awful big baby. He’d have done the same thing, it’s just what gods do when their reality is threatened.”
Pause.
“Where is Aj, anyways? Tenebrae was more distant than usual, so I was worried about both of them.”

 

"He told me he was going to train under his old master again, apparently he was the reason he won the war the Shadows and Light Creatures had," Artemis explains, "If you end up finding him, tell him I love him."
