Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, that might be something?"
I say, pointing at the sign.

 

“If I wasn’t, I’d be burning up.”

 

"How do I know you're not wearing some disguise?" Adrian asks.

 

“That’s not the sign I saw, but yeah it’ll work. 8 alleys down and to the left.”

Iris sighs.
“You really don’t, but I don’t know many shadows who primarily use light magic.”

 

"Well, you don't look or act like a Shadow, so you could be some mage." Adrian says.

 

“I mean, I am a mage. The staff isn’t just for show.” She shrugs.
Pause.
“...Did I even give you my name yet?”

 

Adrian shakes his head.

 

“Iris, rogue mage who’s currently trying to get Gaia to hate her a little bit less.” She says, holding up her seeded wrist.

 

"To the church, right?"

I'll follow her instructions and head that way.

 

"What's that thing?" Adrian asks, looking at the seed, confused.

 

“Apparently, it’s called a karmic seed. The more Gaia hates me, the thornier it gets until it just envelops my entire body and kills me. Theoretically if she stops hating me she can remove it, but frankly I think I’m just screwed.”

As you turn down the paved path, you notice two wolves sleeping on the sides of the road.

 

"Well, if it's a karmic seed, surely you can do good deeds to make it make you healthier?" Adrian guesses.

 

Do they look familair in any sense?

 

“Possibly, but she wanted to banish me at one point so there’s probably no upside for me. Regardless, I’m trying to make it less in the way, so I’ve been bumbling around looking for guardians to not put me in a dumpster.”

As you approach the staircase up to the church, the doors swing open as three centaur charge out, one of them pushing you to the side with a lance.
“No time, wolf.” They say as they run by.

 

"So you're trying to find people to help?" Adrian asks.

 

“For the time being, yes.”

 

"Well, if you're a mage, I know of a few people you could help. Follow me." Adrian says, before flying off through the clouds.

 

Iris follows, quiet as she monitors her surroundings.
