Art A Moment Of Joy

While idly doodling whilst doing some work, I decided to experiment a bit with my current style and design of my character. After I liked how it came out, I decided to colour it. While colouring it, I experimented with a new way of colouring (Using a separate layer instead of just colouring over the base image), a new way of shading (Using a lighter tool to make colours darken instead of just using a darker colour) and with gradients; to make the image look less block-coloured. Here's how it came out.

In contrast to my previous art thread, this one is a little happier.

Better than last time.

 

Not going to lie straight to your face, so I'll tell you that your art definetly needs work. Set a goal for trying to make everything you draw proportionate.

 

I suggestion doing some realism in order to learn basic human anatomy, and hopefully get some more detail facial work.

Your hair needs heavy work.
The symtery is off in the all it.
Its flat and plain in terms of shading.
Lasty attempt to learn some design.

Sorry if that sounded rude, I didn't mean to be. Just pointed out some flaws and recommended away to fix that.
Again try some realism, many people dislike drawing realism, but its mostly needed in order to learn art in general.
