even with hive infused it's still often difficult to optimize. most of the builds i've used for wars are hive spear, and i, like many others, have trouble.

hive spear is honestly a borderline mythic. @hppeng try these weapons in a war:
Bedruthan
Harwrol
Tidebinder
Charging Flame
Rikter

I'm currently using thrunda for quality of life, but the build was designed for parasite and still does ~16k uppercut with hive infused. I've soloed 80 mob defense with parasite (fails on full defenses), have never run into a full defense as thrundacrack/hive infused (got those more recently lel)

and in a lot of war cases where 99% of the territories don't have good walls, corners, or chokes, it's pretty bad

Let's list the problems:
no intelegence
slow af attackspeed, good luck dealing damage between hits without mobs regening
you're deadass relying on hp regen in addition to lifesteal, it doesn't really work
solo more than 160 mobs, you'll see

 

So I died to a full defense

did you also do these tests with a 20 minute timer and 1000 mobs?

 

it took @hppeng 20 mins and 778 remained with his build

Thats not true, I died (Not sure why? most likely lag and I was getting low fps)

Blaming it on lag I think is reasonable since I survived for 10+ minutes according to your clock (which I'm no longer trusting fully lol) without using pots and have only 2 (two) agi points. Unsure how many more I could have killed if it went the full time

Was getting both frame lag and connection lag and health just kinda went from 11k to zero, which usually doesn't happen with that build

Also haven't tested with Thrundacrack but I doubt it would make too (?) much of a difference (~30-40% damage higher than hive maybe)

 

Not actually going to take a side or something in this debate, just clearing up the misconception that selvut directly is the one that runs all your builds. We have discussions and votes about what changes will go ingame, and many of the "major warrior nerfing changes" were not even proposed by him

 

I understand that Selvut is just one person out of many people in the Item team that decides the many item changes. The main problem I see here is that he is defending Spell Warrior's current performance in guild wars, yet admits that he personally doesn't war a lot. Therefore that's why I don't think he can just say spell warrior is fine in guild wars, without having warred regularly.

I used no potions and soloed the war (lol idk how else you could have one guy with 1016 kills and max heals)

 

Hive weapons are the most powerful legendary in the game and for every other class they would have no problem soloing a defense, if a mythic is needed to accomplish such a feat especially a tcrack of all things then that is indicative of how bad warriors' spells are.

 

Show me a no potion mage solo without a mythic...

something that needs to be considered in this is that he did this in the bank, were spells would be better because he is in a enclosed area, which isnt the case at all for every territor

 

Has its ups and downs.
Most terrs have some cave or another which makes it easier but also harder

For one, you need to be able to survive in that shithole with 5 fps, for two all the healing mobs get concentrated

If its worth anything I usually drop ~1k to 2k hp max when warring on open ground, dropped close to and a bit more than 3k hp in here

On the upside, lifesteal is more effective (questionably? since oneclick in open ground is still full hp) and ofc does increases my spell output

 

the main issue is that a vast majority of terrs dont have caves

 

No potion archer isn't that bad as long as you're in a territory with a good camping spot.
Outside of that then hahahahha have fun.
Unless by pots you mean only mana and skill pots because that's easily doable.

yep. detlas is an easy territory to get because of the enclosed spaces and buildings. Try 1k soloing plains coast, you'll see what we mean.
Also, CNM doesn't put max defenses, you l y i n b o i @hppeng

 

since it said 1016 they ATLEAST had a CoW, so i doubt hes lying
