Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Inside is a similarly sized map (now ruined), compass, flute, papers now stuck together, and writing utensils.

“There may have been an incident involving fire a few years back.” Anne says quietly, hopping on your shoulder.

“If you weren’t explicitly told about one, then probably not. While you’re here, though, you should be able to by tapping right thumb against your palm quickly three times.”

 

I look at my hand, then try doing exactly that.

 

Katie puts the items back, before heading over to the rock pile.

 

"Oh. Oooh... Uhm.."

 

"Come on, we can think of excuses on the way." She says, glancing at the tunnel out of Rema's cave.

Moving the rocks would be a bit of effort, but she can't see anything or anyone hiding in them from the visible gaps.

Your surroundings suddenly change to a wireframe grid with Stella standing nearby next to a similar projector to the one in the black plane you entered during maintainence.
"Can I help you?"

 

Katie just turns back to Abigail's house, before collapsing in front of her door.

A few moments later, the door opens, and Katie is dragged inside.

 

The fae peeks out at the door, partially hiding behind a rock.

 

Abigail seems to be carefully creating a blue-coloured fireball, before gently putting it on Katie's chest. The fire seems to spread across her body, before fading as she comes to.

Abigail glances out the door, before throwing a fireball toward the fae as a snap reaction, looking scared.

 

The fae darts away, coming back to snag her backpack and trying to drag it away, unable to if it’s still wet.

 

Abigail steps outside, looking down at the faerie. The backpack is still rather sweat-covered.

 

"If you say so."

I'll head for the cave exit.

 

As you leave Rema’s chamber, Linda fades out of view.

Once you get to the mouth of the cave, it looks to be about noon.

The fae pauses, looking up nervously at Abigail before grabbing the flute out of the bag and darting off back behind the rocks.

 

"Hey, come back! I'm not going to hurt you." Abigail says, trying to sound friendly.

 

The fae peeks out from behind the rocks, holding the flute as if they were getting ready to play it.

 

Abigail smiles.

"Are you lost?" Abigail asks.

 

“No...” They call back, uneasy.

 

"Oh, have you come to see me then?" Abigail asks in a kind voice.

 

"Nothing, yet. Just checking."
I say, then tap my thumb against my palm three times again.

 

"To the village?"

 

“Who... are you?”

“Yep. Nice day, too.” Anne comments, looking up at the clear skies.

Stella nods before your surroundinggs switch back to what they were.

“I’d say that worked.” Serra comments, Buddy sitting near the bench looking confused as he walks up to you and licks your hand.”
