Is Wynntills Bannable?

I was told that 2-3 people were banned for using Wynntills, but i thought that it is legal. Is Wynntills safe for usege or not?

Older versions of wynntils seem to be banned by wynn, but the most recent versions should be safe to use if I am not mistaken. However, please keep in mind that wynn doesn't endorse the usage of mods and you use them at your own risk, so it is advised to play in vanilla.

 

Short Answer: Yes, you can use wynntills.
Long Answer: Older versions had a duping exploit and are now banned. I was banned for using an old version myself before I was told about said exploits. Wynntils has an auto-updating feature, so make sure to update everytime it appears and you should be fine.

Basically, Wynntills is in a kind of strange spot right now. The mod itself is not bannable, yet people are getting banned for using it. There is 2 reason why, one easy to avoid and one not so much. First of all, using the latest version of Wynntills should decrease your chances of getting banned. This is because there is a dupe bug that used to exist in an older version of the modpack, making it bannable. Again if you are on the latest version this should not happen.

The second reason is, well, the system. Wynns anti-cheat system for some reason acts on users with the wynntills modpack which results in false bans. Sadly there is nothing that a normal player can do about it other than waiting for a fix, if one ever comes.

However, please be aware that wynncraft does not endorse the usage of mods, as it was made to be played without. This does not mean they are directly bannable, but it is always safer to play on a clean client, so you can avoid situations like these in the future.
