The Religions of Wynn...
I really want to make a post for Wynn Religions but I simply don't know them..
For me, it's a mystery.
If you know a note about a religion or basically any religion not noted here, just... Comment.

So as far as I know:



Wynn Religions:
There's a Bovemist Religion and it is about:
Worshipping Salted??
There's an Anti-Bovemist Religion that is about:
[From what I gathered] Hating Bovemists and their religion.
There's an Eye-of-The-Storm religion that is about:
[From What I gathered, again] Worshipping "The Eye".

anyway ye, the only religion in wynn mentioned is bovemism and the "newfangled religion" the seaskipper mentions

 

Bovemism, Anti-Bovemism and probably some cults, if you count them as religions.

 

Bovemists believe in salted as our Lord and savior

These aren't actually religions in wynn but @1917Lenin1917 supports the first one so it's fine

 

You can add the religion in Eye of The Storm or maybe it was a cult I don't know.
But I think it is because the NPC is saying it is religious.

 

What about witherists? Also don't the wynnexcavation guys worship the eye, making it a religion of sorts?

 

There isn't a difference between cults and religions.
Cults just have a negative context so religions call each other that

 

I would also like to point out that since many tombstones in Wynn and Gavel use a cross as a decoration, we can assume that canonically Salted had been crucified.

The Doguns worship Garaheth and the Elves worship several deities I think. Oh and of course the nature deities in Dernel Jungle.

I understand the term "cult" to refer to a subset of "religion" in which "information, spiritual knowledge, and/or the holy texts are normally hidden or only permitted to those higher up in the organization of the religion."

That definition of mine could probably use a bit of refining, but that's a key factor that I usually use to distinguish cults from religions.

 

Yeah, most Christians who look at history with an unbiased view would agree that the Catholic church got a lot more than just the lack of translations wrong during that era - see "Medici Family". The pope of today is still trying to remedy mistakes from back then, but that goes to show that a cult could open up into a normal religion... given time.

That's beside the point though. If we consider cults to be a subset of religions, then yes, all Wynn cults would be listed among all Wynn religions.

 

Again, the only difference is that cults have a negative context
