Wynncraft On Hytale

Ok. So, basically there is this new game called Hytale, created by Hypixel. It will be something like Minecraft, but better 1000000000x times. They will have scripting support and stuff like that. I wonder if wynncraft will create a server there too. That would be awsome!

Essentially: There's no need to learn entirely new methods, and waste a long time only to recreate something that already exists, especially in a game owned by another server.

Yeah and that thread is misleading because most people in this community are biased to hate hypixel and mojang

And something I shouldve put in that thread:

* Models could be migrated
* A foreach() function could copy our map to a server on hytale block for block
* Quests use a db which could be shared on both servers

not much progress lost

also, hypixel has no reason to make it hard on wynncraft if they did invest in hytale, since they (hypixel) made 36 million and threw it to the side 2 years ago, while the wynncraft owners barely make enough to live off of.

It would take a very long time to recreate the original game in Hytale, and the payoff may not be worth it, so they probably won't do it.

What do you mean? I just read almost every post regarding hytale and came up with an educated guess

What makes you think this? Wynn is one of the few servers that allows anyone to openly discuss other servers, and a large part of the community, including CT and even admins actually like hypixel, at least to some degree.

What about the 100k+ lines of code Wynn has? What about the thousands of command block contraptions? Do you think it's possible to recreate every single feature, every single gatherable thing, possibly a dozen thousand items, the features of WynnScript, utilize or recreate thousands of yml files just like that, all while having to learn everything from scratch? What about the CT? Should they all be completely abandoned in favor of a new engine? Who would work on the game? Should old Wynn be shut down? Should there be 2 copies of Wynn running on 2 different engines for no reason? What about updates?

If you can answer these questions, I'll gladly not take these threads as a joke

its made by hypixel but its a entirely new separate game. It opens to a lot of new possibilities that werent possible before cuz of the limitations of minecraft

I'd like you to point out 2 posts doing so that aren't related to Hytale. It feels like most of the negative impression is coming from people's passion towards defending Wynn, not purely to hate on Hypixel.

What’s with people’s fetish about porting wynncraft to hytale

 

I'm no game developer, but I know porting any game takes a long time. And this isn't even porting, this is recreating an entire game. We'll probably all die of old age before Dern releases on Wynncraft: Hytale Edition™.

If, however, it is succesfully and quickly ported, the community will have to choose between the two versions of Wynncraft. They'll likely choose for the Minecraft version, since they already paid for that, their main characters are on that version and/or out of nostalgia. The total playerbase might increase a little, but it probably won't be worth it.

Would the Wynncraft devs do it? Even if they had the time and willingness? Maybe - but they don't. The developers certainly don't hate Hytale or Hypixel: both Salted and Grian follow Hytale and Simon from Hypixel Studios on Twitter, and both have stated their support for the project. Does the Wynncraft community hate Hypixel or Hytale? No, not really. They mostly dislike its immature playerbase, from what I gathered.

Also imagine making a trailer for your new game and ten days later people are already hating and hyping about it, as if they could already know what it'll be like. Remember No Man's Sky and Fallout 76?

 

It's likely because of the textures on Hytale and the extensive modding. Doesn't even require a resource pack since it looks nice. Plus, you could model any creature or NPC to your heart's content without having the use of armorstands. Imagine a boss like the three phases of Amadel not only recreated, but re-imagined in Hytale to make his appearances look more menacing and intimidating.

 

At that point, why not just make an entirely new game instead of being limited to blocks on both games
