Oh. I would say the closest thing it looks like is either WoW or that one popular texture pack that the Yogscast used a lot.

 

Hytale trailer has now surpassed one million views.

 

Its a literal rip off of minecraft but its much better imo

Minecraft's graphics are at least consistent and also one thing being bad doesn't make another good, so what's your point.

Another game that will most likely ruin its reputation with generating a toxic community of kids. It looks, meh. Not a fan of the player models.

 

The graphics don't look very good... I prefer regular mc graphics

Ok so this is my opinion:

• Bad models (and textures):
  A) If they wanted to differentiate themselves from Minecraft completely (mentioned somewhere in one of their QnAs), they should've just got rid of the blocky feel and went for a more realistic appearance or cartoony appearance, like modern MMORPGs. The blocky look would still be great though, if it was simplistic enough and used less pixels, it'd still be acceptable. Things like Cube World, Trove, and Minecraft all do this and succeed. Instead their player models are a horrible amalgamation of both styles
• Mod API:
  Now this is one of the things that genuinely seem appealing. If the game is easy to mod, and have an official. easy and accessible way of downloading and installing mods, then this would be the best card Hytale has in their hand. If they can utilise this properly, it would surely create an amazing modding community. It is even coded in Java and C++ which is what most Minecraft modders use. If mods were as easy to insert into a server as plugins, there will be a much larger percentage of players playing with mods.
• Clunky player animations and animation style:
  This feels like it was taken from the old 3D animations mod in Minecraft, except that it looks extremely awkward in Hytale, with some minor tweaks, it can be improved.
• Not Minecraft 2.0:
  I saw some comments in the trailer claiming that this will replace Minecraft, but I think the differences are too drastic. One aims to be a "build-your-own RPG" while the other is intended to be a sandbox survival game. It'd be useless for a group like Hypixel to rip off another game, it'd serve no purpose other than to get shat on by people who actually play Minecraft. It'd be more practical if they played to their strengths (targeting their own fanbase and community that don't play "real Minecraft", but rather Minecraft mini-games.)

Interpret this any way you like. It's just my opinion, based on my own judgement.

 

Here's my opinion too:

• I like the graphics and player models. They're alright, it gives off a cartoony/anime feeling with pixels, which is kinda unique in a way
• Have you seen that corgi????
• People comparing it to a "better version" of Minecraft are just wrong in every single way and are probably minigames players? I doubt Hytale will have a similar experience. Some even say it'll "dethrone Minecraft" (which at this point is just impossible). Don't get me wrong, it just looks amazing, but people should compare it to Portal Knights, Trove, Terraria or even Starbound when it comes to gameplay. Of course people will compare it to Minecraft though, it's hypixel!
• I'm tired of seeing people say "Minecraft didn't add shit in 8 years, so much untapped potential, I want more mobs ores dimensions content". Minecraft just isn't this type of game and some people don't understand that. I'm super glad Hytale is there because it does look like a "What if Minecraft was a RPG" game.
• People hating on 1.9 combat are gonna move there, that's cool too. I always loved 1.9 AND 1.8, and even though we've seen like 3 seconds, the Hytale combat looks pretty neat!
• The modding and all the tools this appears to give seem outstanding! Herobrine's mansion 3, anyone?
• I love how they basically added Hypixel on Hytale. Like the whole thing: same map, same stuff. I actually love this!
