Wynncraft has nothing on Hypixel. Why would they care? Hypixel made 36 million and reserved it for Hytale development more than two years ago. Wynncraft, on the other hand, is barely supporting 3 owners' salary (Salted said in the AMA he's "Just making enough to start a living off of it", doesn't sound good)

Hypixel wouldnt screw wynncraft over if they did go into hytale, there is literally no reason. The only rivals are the community.

 

I don't think you get what we're trying to imply here, so let me make it clear to you.

Wynncraft is purposely built into Minecraft as a sort of challenge. Diving into Hytale would make building an MMO way too easy.

While I am indeed excited for the modding aspects, none of us even know what it is capable of. We also already have a content team working their asses off to keep Wynncraft interesting and cool, if we invest time into building ANOTHER game/server, this server would receive updates at a much slower pace and that's not what we want. Hypixel can do what they've just done because of the sheer numbers in their team, we only have a few developers working on Wynncraft. In some way, splitting away from the main server kind of goes against Wynncraft's tradition of building an MMO within Minecraft. There is nothing else quite like Wynncraft, and to be honest? I don't think there will ever be.

 

CT uses JSON for items and quests, maybe mobs to (im not entirely sure)

And I dont think they chose minecraft so it'd be a challenge, they chose it because it was better than Unity and they were already playing minecraft.

 

No, they chose it as a joke. There was a post recently, but I can't remember where. Someone (mod/staff I think?) was explaining how the server, or more precisely creating an MMO in minecraft, started off as a joke/experiment until it grew into this.

 

Legend has it that the Almighty Bovine was on the shitter when the idea for an MMO in Minecraft popped into his head.

 

the only associatiation with hypixel i want wynncraft to have is to have a team of people to infiltrate the hytale content team and leak info to us so we can release it first and hytale will get bashed for copying us

we’re much better than hypixel community
here even though people are weird we’re friendly to each other, we meme together and there’s little to no toxicity within our community. sure, we may be weird and dirty-minded as fuck, but everyone gets the joke, and we’re all mature enough to handle stuff well. hypixel? hypixel’s community is more toxic than a fucking sewer. because every single game in hypixel is competitive, you always have this elitist vibe in the air, and people who are good are valued so much more in the community while people who just suck are treated like fucking peasants. even though we have pvp here, nobody gets salty after a loss. we just say “gg” and shake it off. beat a person in hypixel duels, there’s a more than 50% chance that they will cuss at you and accuse you of hacking. so much for us being on the same level as hypixel.


tl;dr: as weird as we are, at least we’re nice

Let's be honest.
Would be neat wynncraft on hytale? Yes (Imaging going down the emerald trail with the textures, animations and mechanics of hytale while the adventure theme plays without noteblocks. I think I failed no nut november outside of november XD)
(Going back to real life) Would it be a good idea? No

 

Wait a second, why leave wynncraft entirely when you can just create a new group separated from the CT that takes care of hytale and get double server presence? :thonk:
