Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It'll be fine, Katie. She just gets lonely."

 

"What if she tries to kill me and I can't contact you?" Katie asks, terrified.

 

I find a good place to sit down, waiting for whoever or whatever left the note to come back.

 

"I'm coming with you. Plus, she's slow and you'll know something's wrong. Transform into flowing water, and she can't harm you physically. Her magic is weakened by her armor, so you should be safe from that as well."

The line of barstools isn't a bad idea, though your dog seems a bit more interested in continuing the walk.

 

"...Do you eat anything?"
I casually ask the dog, still standing.

 

"There are people fleeing here?"

I know, right? We got other things to do.

 

"O-Ok, I will." Katie says shakily, trying to smile.

The pair are soon out of the hospital, heading through the waiting room as the doctor calls for an unfamiliar name.

 

“There have been for a couple years now. There was a pretty big increase a few months ago, though.”

If someone tries to crash our wedding we just rip them apart. Easy solution.

It looks at you, then the door, tail intermittently wagging.

Rineth continues letting Katie take the lead.

 

Katie heads to the elevator out of the hospital, transporting Rineth and herself to the portal room. Once there, she heads over to the computer and opens a portal outside Xlentia's chambers.

 

Rineth follows her through, albeit through a portal of his own.

Xlentia’s visible walking around in circles inside.

 

"H-Hey, X-Xlentia." Katie says, scared.

 

"Do you know where they come from or do they just pop up wherever?"

Well... I'm not so sure if that's the best solution.

 

She looks over.
“Hello. Is there, uh... a reason you look like you’re about to pass out?”

“There’s a portal between worlds near the forest, but it’s only visible once you get close to it.”

Well we’re not inviting any of them.

 

"No!" Katie says in a terrified voice.

 

Xlentia looks at Katie skeptically.
“Then is there a reason you look like you incurred Gaia’s wrath?”

 

“Alright.”
I get up and exit to continue the walk.

 

Katie just shakes her head quickly, too scared to speak.

 

“Rineth, what’s going on with her.”
“She’s afraid you’re going to lose it and attack her.”
“Why would I do that? That’s like stomping on a giant metal stake.”

The dog, seeming to have lost some patience, now gently pulls on the leash as it takes the lead.

 

"W-Well...um...I-I-I j-just...w-wanted to m-m-make sure you were...o-ok without E-Emerald." Katie says, still scared, shaking a bit out of fear.

 

“I don’t go crazy right off the bat, else I’d be locked up in my chambers.” She says bluntly.
