Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Good to know.”
I hover and fly around for a bit, getting used to it.
“What else?”

 

"Umm..." Tiffany says, thinking, "I don't remember, but I know I have friends!"

 

"What are their names?"

It seems that keeping power output near minimum is enough.

"That's most of it, really. A few more innate weapons, improved jetboots, a few comm tweaks, the map, and structural enhancements is all we really did."

 

"Umm...well one of my best friends is called Phoebe!" Tiffany says happily.

 

“What kind of comm tweaks? I just like to know things.”

 

"Tenebrae... where am I..." Rineth mutters under his breath.
"One of your best friends? Who are the others?"

"Range extenders, and we sort of broke galactic law by adding a couple telepathic range enhancers. Keep that between us, why don't you?"

 

"Uh...Grace, and there's this boy I really like called Lex," Tiffany says, blushing a bit, "Who's Tenebrae?"

 

"Sort of."

It's not that I'm taking control because I want to, it's more that I keep forgetting.

 

I nod.
“Gladly.”

 

"Tenebrae's an... old acquaintance of mine. By any chance is Lex a creature of light and does Phoebe have purple hair? Perhaps Grace usually has green hair but occasionally turns a different color?"

"We figured it might help, considering your usual group of allies."

"That does sort of make me curious... does it listen to you, or are you always arguing?"

How about letting me out again later today? Just, maybe not in front of everyone else.

 

"It certainly will."
Pause.
"Well, if that's it, I'll head back to my room."

 

“There’s some circuit Idhaenna insisted we install. We don’t know its function, you’ll have to talk to her later about it. Other than that, that is all the features we’ve added.”

 

"Alright. I'll ask her about it."
I leave, going back to my room.

 

If you activate the holomap, you’d notice it already has a route shown - to a droptube and back to your room.
Regardless, you find your gear sitting on the floor on arrival.

 

I re-equip myself, think for a bit, then head out to find Idhaenna.

 

You remember that she didn't go through the warpgate with you. You're stuck on the ship until someone tells you how to get off.

 

"Not always. Two different minds in one body. But we get along."

Sure, no problem.

 

I decide to stay in my room for a bit, going over the map. After I do that, I go explore some of the rooms for myself.

 

"Whoa! How do you know that? They never told me about you!" Tiffany says, shocked and surprised.

 

“They don’t know me.” Rineth says, looking at his surroundings. “Also, is there a Mortimer that usually has a cloak? Maybe a Theo?”

“At least you don’t spend your time fighting with it.”

That sounds like a waste of time. There’s plenty of other stuff to fight.

A few other nearby rooms are open, the first you walk into a vast jungle with the other Thirteen hanging upside-down from a tree branch.
“What a coincidence...”
