    Personally, I don't see why a stat should base its activation on chance when it's dealing with combat. Mana Steal and Life Steal are beyond difficult to effectively use on archer because the chance of it activating combined with the chance of missing is often too great. Personally, I think stealing should activate on spell damage AND melee instead. Hitting is already hard enough for archers when mobs are charging, teleporting, vanishing, or moving fast, but then to make a stat that's supposed to be used on the enemy potentially not even activate when it's needed most (at low health or low mana) is just stoopid. It's punishing for all the wrong reasons. And don't even get me started on making the chances 'balanced' by calculating hits per second with attack speed. It fails to take into account speed of the arrow, server lag, missing, enemy movement, and undermines the point of the stat IMO. If you aren't activating the stat, then it's not happening every 4 seconds, and you're just using the /4 tooltip to justify making it based on chance. Too many problems. Mana regen is straightforward and net the player x amount of Mana. Healing potions are straight forward and net the player x amount of HP. Life Steal only works on warriors because melee has AOE.

    Just as I'm getting to AOE too. Nice segway. I shouldn't have to use powder specials to take advantage of my stats. Examples: I don't have to use mana regen to effectively gain mana from regen. I don't have to use earth dam% to even get the effects of the stat. Just shoot a bomb arrow. You use mana and get it back from regen while increasing your damage from the earth%. Nowhere was I required to get the effects of either from a powder special. In fact, Curse and Courage simply improve damage; neither would improve the ability to gain HP. Powder specials are extra, and as such, shouldn't be required to make a build. My mythic freedom build didn't need curse, and on many of the bosses I only used curse once or twice to get a burst of extra damage. I don't want to center my build around quake or chain, but I do want Life Steal as a primary stat. That doesn't work right now. I want it to change. It's an opinion. The fact is, the current system forces players to use health pots; to which I said:

    I definitely agree about it being difficult to activate ls/ms with Archer. Even with my Cluster's 400+ ls, I don't even pay attention to it because it's so hard to use. Sure, I can wait until I get hit to use chain lightning, but if I'm fighting any actually challenging enemy, I take so much damage from a single hit that it's not safe to try to lifesteal it back (not when I can get twoshot). Outside of grinding, I don't think lifesteal has ever actually helped me.

    I wouldn't want ls/ms to activate on spells though, that would make items like Knucklebones (or builds with that concept) essentially useless, and would make Lunar Spine the most broken item in the game.

    and those two items have such a massive following now don't they...
    Lunar Spine still has the -MR which negates the +MS every cycle. You're still going to need to skillfully time your casting. If your cast actually triggers +MS, you're still not going to get more than 20/20 mana, at which point -MR will take it all away before you could get more than 1 or 2 casts. It still doesn't break that item, and may indirectly buff it, but not significantly.
    Knucklebones is a loot bonus meme item. If you're actually using Knucklebones for damage, then you're doing it wrong to begin with.

    Regarding Knucklebones, it's useful for xp grinding right now because you can just use spells, but with spells triggering ls/ms it's pretty much completely useless - might as well just skip 96-100 legendary bracelets on lootruns then...
