If there's any indication of Dez casting magic, just stare at him.
"What did you just cast?"

If not, pull the pendant back into my hand and turn to swing it behind me. Use the chain for extra reach if necessary.

 

In both cases I keep starting out the window

 

So I looked back to this and i got an idea I'd like to suggest.
basically insted of you being able to cast tier 1 spells only once a day, you can cast spells to a total of all your spell ranks combined.
In the case of Dez counting all spell tiers together he has 16 spell tiers (charm person is actually rank 2) so he can cast a total of 16 spells in total, it's the same amount of spells as your idea just we can cast the spells we use more often (I'm not survivng a day with only 3 flame strikes)
I'd also say that reasting/relaxing/reading or pretty much doing nothing for a longer period of time (1+ hours) should recover some casts

Rankless spell you should be able to cast as many times as you want (except if the spell states otherwise) becuse most of them aren't really even that useful and are more for flavour

Here are the pros and cons of the idea
Pros

• You have a lower chance of running out of casts in a fight
• Is still limiting, just not as much
• You get more freedom in spellcasting

Cons

• Spellcasters are still op, but still weaker then before

I'd like to hear your opinons on this idea, but HM is the judge

 

This idea is amazing. Expect for the small exploit of using all 16 casts on flame strike to level it up super fast for more casts. TBH, that's not a really big problem either.
Thing is, does thay mean I get 16 usage of a tier 1 spell and/or 16 usage of a tier 3 spell?

 

I mean then you can't cast anything else

How many recovered tho?

 

My idea is that it depends in how long you rest sraight
1hr- 1 spell
2hrs- 2 spells
3hrs- 4 spells
4hrs- 8 spells
5hrs- 16 spells
ect

 

A good night sleep (7) nets you a nice 64.
I think it should be 1+highest spell tier you have every hour.

But you can't go over your max so the for dez only 16 would be max. But think, the grand wizards of the world also need to recover spells I'm certain their max would be over at lest 50

 

More like 500

 

I'd say 250 at most and 500 would be like god territory, and the goddess of magic has probably unlimited

 

Master wizards often master more than one magic school. And by master i mean, they possesmost if not all the knowledge about it and are able to cast few dozen max level spells.
