I'm below deck working on patching up the boat, so I'm going to assume that I hear, but don't see the voice.

Speaking of which:

I have nails and hammers from carpenter's tools, but are there any spare boards on the ship? Also, would a generous use of mending help here?

Well, that can't be good. I'm just going to stay down here until called upon or forced out. Better get on with fixing the ship.

And with that, I'll continue with fixing (or attempting to fix) the hole.

I aim the cannon towards them. If possible I aim for a place where they might store gunpowder. If someone could shoot as their action that would be really cool.
