Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Gaia doesn’t seem to notice too much of a difference once you leave, towering over you as she transforms.


“I do have one question, though... could I walk out with you for the reveal?”
Leilia notices three small bands in each sleeve, each one a different color.
“...Also, pulling all six makes it look like your normal dress again. Just thought I’d add that.”

 

"Shall I leave you here?" I ask.


"Of course!" Leilia says, lowering a hand for Amethyst to step on to make her more easily visible with her.

 

“If you wish. My insides are no longer molten, so I should be fine.” She nods, carefully stepping into the water.


Amethyst climbs on, a bit excited.

 

I'll follow the blue lights.

"Epsi?!"

 

The path is much longer than Rema’s, but you soon find the blue wyvern approaching you.
“...Oh. Did Rema tell you to call me that?”

 

"Yeah. That's fine, right? Or would you like me to call you something different?"

 

“That’s fine, I guess. Did you need something?” Epsi asks, seeming a bit weary.

 

A few sea creatures quickly get out of Gaia's way as she enters the water.

"Alright, use this if you need to get back." I say, summoning a back crystal and quickly etching runes all over it's surface, before throwing it in Gaia's direction.


Leilia lifts Amethyst up as she steps out of the palace, quite a lot of the city now gathered.

"You look majestic, darling." Solus says, smiling at Leilia. He seems to have been waiting.

 

Gaia takes it with a vine.
“Thank you again, Aj. I hope you can pardon my initial distaste for beings with murderous histories.”


Amethyst suddenly looks a bit nervous as she looks at the crowd, a bit offput by the size of the crowd.
“

 

"It's natural," I say, shrugging, "You see a member of a race of murderous demons, obviously it's safe to assume they're probably no different. The nosiest minority speaks for the quieter majority."


Leilia uses her free hand to pull at one of the bands, the crowd cheering at Leilia's appearance even in the plain dress.

 

“You also still have their bloodlust, and you seem prone to turning feral in a rage.”


Leilia seems to have pulled the fire band, the dress unfurling into a mosaic of erupting volcanoes, dragons, a phoenix, and other fiery creatures.

 

"I can usually control it a little though." I shrug.


The crowd cheers even more, Leilia seeming impressed by the dress. She decides to pull another band to see what other dresses there are.

 

“You still risk harming allies, still dangerous. That doesn’t change the fact I should not have treated you less than any other child.”


She pulls a teal band, the dress unfurling to show a clear blue sky filled with birds and other avians, bits of white fabric somehow weaving themselves along to represent moving clouds.

 

"I'm used to it. My kind used to be used as a kind of slave you could just summon at will to kill people with, or attempt to kill so you can use their souls to augment weapons or wands," I say, "But...thanks."

I smile.


"Wow, how did you manage this? I'm amazed!" Leilia says over the cheers of the crowds, smiling at Amethyst.

 

“You are sentient, unwilling. Servitude should be willing.”


Amethyst just smiles back at Leilia for a few seconds.
“When all you can do is weave, you soon must develop your own techniques to continue learning.”

 

"Well, that's what the weaker shadows are for I suppose," I say, "They're just creatures of instincts and basic commands."


"This is beyond anything I've seen any tailor create before!" Leilia says as she pulls at another band.

 

“You leave the weak to suffer?”


“I like to consider myself a master of my craft.”
She pulls the lime life band, unfurling into a forest with fae, plenty of flora and nearly just as much fauna.

 

"Eh, they hardly suffer. Shadows are rarely summoned, and when they are the summoner is usually killed. Some people take care of the weaker Shadows and manage to actually make them a little more than just instincts, but they can survive on their own most of the time." I explain.


The crowd cheers more, many of the forest guardians cheering louder, their happiness making the plant life flourish.

Leilia pulls the remaining bands, showing off the dresses to her people. Solus watches appreciatively, seeming to love every one.

 

“And the feral beasts? Do you not consider yourself their king as well?”


The death band shows a graveyard with thin wisps of thread acting as fog obscuring skeletons and undead below a few mourning creatures, along with a difficult to see bell being rung by a scythe.
The earth band shows a small mine, an underground city, and a mountainous horizon with tunneling rodents and other cave-dwelling animals.
The water band uses the same cloud effect to show rolling waves on a beach, as well as ocean life and a ship sailing across the surface. Down near Leilia’s feet are abyssal creatures as well as what appears to be a singing siren.

“That’s all six.” Amethyst says, seeming content.

 

"Not really. They don't understand such social dynamics. They just want to kill anything that moves." I say.


"I have a dress for each day of the week!" Leilia says positively, carefully pulling all six bands to revert the dress to normal.

The crowds still seem ecstatic about Leilia's dress, though the guards stop the most rabid fans from running up to her and Amethyst.
