Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Rema nods.
“I can have everything set up in about half an hour. You might want to go out and find something to eat, I’ll probably be ready by the time you get back.”

 

"Do I need to prepare for anything? Like, mental."

 

“You can if you want, it won’t make too much of a difference.”

 

"Right. I'll find a way to pass some time then."

I'll head for the exit.
"I'll have a chat with Epsi, if you don't mind."

 

“This is it, then.”
I say, more matter-of-fact than questioning.
I then step into the doorway, looking around the room.

 

"I know of a few beaches where that's possible." I offer.


The guards shrug.

 

"Go ahead. I'm going to see what this potion is before I get set up, but I'll let you know when I'm ready if you're still around."

It's plain and grey, with literally nothing to see...
...and then you get closed in, and the grey quickly transforms to what seems to be the living room of a historical mansion.

"I meant in my golem form."


Amethyst lets the guards haul the dress towards the queen if they choose to, seeming something between nervous and excited.

 

"Still possible," I say, "Just fewer beaches."


Amethyst finds herself presenting the dress to Queen Leilia just outside the palace, who seems delighted.

"Oh, is the dress finished already?" Leilia says happily.

 

I look around at any decor, as well as places to go.

 

"Awesome."

I walk away.
"Be sure to tell me what that potion does when I'm back."
I yell from the corridor, or whatever.

 

"Then I'll let you guide me."


Amethyst nods.
"All six."

"I will!"

The decor seems antique, and the outline of the door out sits in the middle of what you presume to be an illusion.

 

"Okay. So follow the blue lights, she said?"

 

"Are you sure?" I ask, sounding surprised.


"Well, I suppose I should try it on!" Leilia says cheerily, reaching down to take the dress.

 

Is that the only other place to go? Through the weird door?

 

Gaia nods.


As she takes it, it's three times heavier than it was, but still not terribly heavy.

The weird door doesn't disappear, but as you move about, the room seems to move with you.

Yeah. Something about there would be blue lights in the cave if we went towards outside.

 

I try to move to the walls of the room, seeing how far it goes.

 

"I'll look around for those blue lights then."

 

I take control of Gaia, using the elevator to teleport to the portal room. Once there, I use the terminal to open a portal to a large island beach leading into an overgrown forest. The only inhabitants appear to be tree-faring mammals and birds, none that should disturb Gaia on the beach.


Leilia doesn't seem to be affected by the weight change, picking it up all the same.

In a flash, Leilia seems to disappear, though a gust of wind that follows seems to imply she simply ran into the palace with the dress.

 

Gaia steps forward before pausing.
“You probably want to leave. Transformation is taxing, and I don’t want to drain you.”


Amethyst seems uneasy, pacing back and forth out of anticipation.

As you walk past the red lights indicating Rema’s part of the cave, you can see a blue glow coming from an intersection.

The illusion seems to go pretty far - all the way to a window on the wall, which has a view of a lone street winding through a forest on a sunny day.

 

"Give me a second." I say.

A beach umbrella appears next to Gaia, a dark hand grabbing it and setting it in the sand. Gaia begins to feel a lot weaker as I leave, rising up from the shaded sand under the umbrella.


Leilia's back in no time, wearing the dress.

"It is beautiful! I cannot thank you enough for the work you've put toward this gift for me, Amethyst." Leilia says happily.
